First wobble for me under INEOS, missed by most but SJR said wed hear about the stadium plans this week.
Weve only heard about a pie in the sky 20 year plan from the council on the area.

This was mentioned in the BBC interview, said something like "well hear next week on the stadium plans" doesnt seem like theres anything pending.

We will hear next week meaning him and his entourage not us the fans.

This is a conflict in the waiting Omar Berada will only be interested In De Zerbie and Ashworth potter ?

Yeah that's a very valid concern, could easily switch my stance on Erik if INEOS think Potter is the answer. Come on we need to be keeping an open mind on this

Nothing wrong with Wilcox, he’s an upgrade on Fletcher.
How so?

they don’t do the same jobs.

Jason Wilcox was coach and then academy director at city. This is the same job as Nick Cox, not Darren Fletcher.

Wilcox then became director of football at Southampton. Nothing related to Fletcher.

so strange thought process to link the 2

With Greenwood not written off and leaving OT for some corporate-sponsored dome, I was hoping for some good news in terms of recruitment.

Ashworth chasing Potter about fills me with a nameless dread.

The position he’s been linked with is Technical Director at Man United as a link between Nick Cox and Dan Ashworth, why would he leave a DOF position to be head of youth development, he was offered similar money by city to stay as head of youth development, he said no.

The club want a CEO, DOF, Technical Director, Head of Recruitment and Academy Director, look at Nice ORG Charts, they have even more layers than that, especially with Scout departments.

Wilcox will report to Dan Ashworth and Omar Berada. He will either be head of recruitment or Technical Director.

Ahhh ok I see you’re getting confused with the old “technical director” title again that Fletcher was given. I’m bored going over that same old ground again. Fletcher is it ONLY in title. They did him no favours with that title. They should have had a dumb title that fans understood like “Director of helping kids transition to first team squad”

secondly if he does come in instead as head of recruitment then again that’s nothing related to Fletcher.

both boil back to my original question. “How so?” as in why are you linking it to Fletchers current job?

Manchester United is huge. It’s a very exciting project just starting with Sir Jim and Ineos. It’s a huge opportunity for anyone working in the football industry.

You are aware of course that Fletcher did the FA Technical director course. The course that Ashworth and the FA designed based on more clear definitions of what each director does.

Yes but you are aware of his job description which in the main is transition of kids from reserves to mains and all that entails. It’s not a technical director job. So as the poster himself said, Wilcox is coming from DoF, he’s not coming to do this role. So unless they blend that role in with head of academy or something, then I don’t see it. I think he will either come in as assistant DoF or head of recruitment. That is assuming they don’t get rid of Nick Cox and slot him in there

Probably the enquiry about whether the govt will chip in he was waiting for. That will be a no I reckon as other big clubs would then be asking the same.

If they are seriously considering Potter and flavour of the months like de Zerbi then this new regime can't be serious .

Then again, it's all just rumours. No one anticipated Berrada, so I hope the next manager will not be one that the press says it will be.

Need to blow this up as soon as possible. Too much dead-weight in the first team, not enough quality and football IQ, and highly questionable coaching. But FFP might feck them in what they can do this summer to replace what needs to be jettisoned off. May need a year to blood youth and cheap talents, reset all of it, and go from there. Worrying part in doing something that drastic is potentially battling relegation but surely the club has enough talent to avoid that scenario.

It’s paper talk. I can’t imagine the people making that decision have even got in a room to discuss it yet.

Recruitment is the key..get the right players..motivated ..good technical skills..
Everything will fall in place

The work is in motion. This season will not give us anything and I am fine with that.

Time to see if he walks the walk, or just another talker. Of which there have been many.

Imagine they're talking to them as it's natural to sound out Managers to know our options. But whether they're our top options or fallbacks is anyone's guess.

They have a huge job on their hands. Looking at the team today and our wider squad I'd be looking to clear all of them out barring the youngsters (Mainoo, Garnacho and Hojlund) who themselves currently have too much of a burden on them due to the shitness of the senior players. Trying to rebuild this squad over the coming years and presumably looking for a new manager this summer is going to be a hell of a task.

Decisions on Eth, Casemiro, Rashford and Bruno will be an early indicator of how quickly they want to change things. We'll find out in the summer.

They have an insanely difficult job on their hands, this is the worst that United have been in the last 10 years in terms of squad and we don’t have the financial power like before. Going to take 3+ seasons

Let's hope they can fix this mess
Enormous task ahead of them.

I know Ragnick was not the right man for us but what he said was spot on about us needing a revolution / complete overhaul rather than mere incremental improvement. I feel ETH underestimated the problems and hence felt he would be able to adapt his style to the players at his disposal. It isn’t happening and if Ineos fall for that then they will struggle too. There is no quick fix - we should go down the Arsenal route and build long term.

INEOS have taken a deliberate and systematic approach in getting in our new CEO and poaching Ashworth and working on a deal. Notice there are no briefs to the media and everything is moving in the right direction. Anyone expecting INEOS to have a knee jerk reaction to today’s result have clearly not been paying attention. They will let the season play out with ten Hag at which point they’ll decide the next steps.
