Claudio Marchisio

Barry would have seen us into 4th place? That needs to be in the hall of fame of quotes.
A slight upgrade in our midfield would have done wonders. You have seen how terricrap Cleverley and co are, they hardly hold their own against relegation fodder midfielders.

People still do not realize that just as the caftards scoff at Barry, others are bubblylaughing at Clevverzzz and co. Barry however is proving himself to be a level or two above the dross we have in midfield.

I can't see that they WONT sell a midfielder...

Asamoah/Pirlo/Marchisio/Vidal/Pogba...

Asamoah will stay as he is cheap, Pirlo's contract is up in the summer but I'm sure he'll renew. Vidal is probably the best midfielder they have and Marchisio is his regular partner, I think they'll look to get big money for Pogba.. he won't stay there forever.

Asamoah is playing as left-wingback for us. That leaves 4 quality midfielders and we usualy start 3 of those. That's not too much. You just need one player to have a longer injury and suddenly you are out of decent options when one more midfielder gets injured/suspended/out of form/tired. That's why our 5th choice Simone Padoin gets quite some minutes. Actually, I'd like to have an upgrade on him or get a better alternative for Asamoah on the left to free him up for midfield.

Numbers in midfield are certainly not a reason to sell. However, if PSG or someone else wants to make a crazy offer for Pogba/Vidal, I am sure we could take advantage of it. It's just too bad that Radja Nainggolan is off the market, we would have immediately signed him as a replacement.

Barry has vindicated me with his form. Have you seen the state of clevery and even Carrick? Barry would have seen us in fourth right this moment.

Crikey.

If Barry had come here, he would've done basically nothing to rectify any problem we had. There's a whole lot of difference between fitting in with a properly functioning Everton outfit and sorting out a completely dysfunctional United one. We've seen what he's like at a top club and it's not good enough.

Juventus should buy Valencia for the right side for 10-15m :)
