Man City trolled over 115 FFP charges with special edition scarves highlighting alleged breaches to be dished out before Manchester derby at Old Trafford this weekend
I actually think this is a realistic take. But obviously there are a number of ways of doing it. They will be heavily punished, but I don't see the owners getting dumped directly. An incentivised dumping maybe...There is no chance this is such a small punishment. Had they come clean from the start then maybe a 30-40 point punishment would have been considered enough, though it would still have been lenient.
But the way they've refused to cooperate for so long means being effectively relegated should be the least of their worries. Removing the ownership by forcing a sale is the only reasonable way to deal with the shennanigans they've engaged in since their arrival. They are in no way, shape or form 'fit and proper'.
We all knew their sponsorships were fabricated a decade ago. It was as clear as it could be. And, as suspected at the time, this was just the tip of the iceberg. It's a shame it's taken so long to get to where we are, but now that the PL have finally acted and brought such an unprecendented number of charges, I simply can't see them being allowed to continue. If found guilty etc etc.
Then you go back to expelling them from the PL reinforced with a lifetime ban to the current owners meaning that even if they get admitted to the Championship and win they do not get to be promoted. Kick them out and lock the door behind them until every vestige of the current ownership is gone.I don’t think you can force someone to sell something they own. This is different from Chelsea given Russian sanctions etc
