City and Financial Doping | Charged by PL with 130 FFP breaches | Hearing begins 16th Sep 2024 | Concluded 9th Dec 2024 - Awaiting outcome

I don‘t think we can get on with this thread until we know where the North of England starts.

He assumes Abu-Dhabi is ran by right wing extremists. When they are an Islamic Monarchy where left and right don't quite apply...
They are a right wing vassal. Both Islamically and in the secular sense. All the reactionary voices you hear on the middle east and on Islam more generally come from the UAE.

It's astonishing that people believe this is a real quote. I don't think anyone would be so quick to believe Robinho was that stupid if he was an English player.

This one is real though ;)

Robinho's expectancy to move to Chelsea was such that upon signing for Manchester City he accidentally stated, "On the last day, Chelsea made a great proposal and I accepted." To this comment, a reporter then replied, "You mean Manchester, right?" "Yeah, Manchester, sorry!" answered Robinho.

I had a dream recently that I was reading a news headline that said that the trophies they won were going to be redistributed to the runners up. Can't remember anything else about the dream but that stuck with me. It's on lads

Ole with a PL medal:angel:

this is just another absolute smoking gun. They guy stuck 30 million into City, 15m of which came via his own bank account. The Uefa judgement flat out found them guilty in this instance. It's not even subtle, and demonstrates the absolute disdain they had for the rules and other clubs.

Relegate these fecks and be done with it.

This news has clearly rattled Stefan Borson!

He's not stopped tweeting since it came out! He is slbsn on Twitter and posts on Blue Moon under the same name and occasionally appears on Talk sport.

At one time he used to speak a lot of sense but in recent months he has lost all creditability and gone down a path of defending the indefensible as far as City are concerned.

He's always been pointless to listen to with regards to anything City related, purely because he is associated and friends with many who are implicated. It's also really been his meal ticket these last years, who the feck had heard of him prior to all the allegations?

#HaveCityBeenRelegatedYet ?

Not long to go I think, should be confirmed in April or May at the latest..? My money is on an 80 point deduction.

Widen your time frame.
Lessen your expectations.

That way you won't feel too disappointed.

They might appeal, but in a lot of ways it might not actually make sense for them to even bother. May as well just have one season in the Championship, they'll be back up easily in a year and then it's all done with. Same as Juve back in the day. An appeal just drags it out.

Pardon my ignorance, but who is Stefan Borson? He sounds like a Swedish bad guy in an Jason Statham movie.

Used to be a banker (change a letter, still is), positions himself as a financial expert and as pro City as they come. Used to try (and fail) to be an unbiased tw@t… now seems to have even stopped trying. Wouldn’t be surprised if on the pay

For we geographically challenged Americans, where does it start?
It’s generally accepted as being from the county of Cheshire northwards to the border with Scotland. But, there isn't a definite boundary between the North and the Midlands. Brian is happy to accept someone who considers themselves as a Northerner to be a Northerner.

Why suddenly do we think a verdict is imminent? We‘ve been waiting since December.
The first post in this whole thread was four years ago.

I think since that first page there were people who thought some sort of justice was imminent.

It's been built up so much now, like a sequel to some amazing film, that even if the stadium and all ten fans were cut out from earth by subterranean drill machines, fired into the sun, and all was finished by expertly arranged pyrotechnics that spelled out "Oil States Can't Host The World Cup Anymore", it would still somehow be a let down.

That sounds pretty good to me actually.

Would rather see it next season. They're not winning the league this season anyway (for a change). Make sure they can't win it at least two seasons in a row.

A big deduction applied this season will relegate them though. I can't see it being 80 and 40 or 50 next season wouldn't necessarily put them down

Depends on whom you ask. This map from Wikipedia shows a map of Northern England that includes the three statistical regions of Northwest England, Northeast England, and Yorkshire and the Humber. Obviously it’s more of a cultural and regional thing. I’d imagine that if you asked a Londoner, their definition of the north would start a bit further south.
