He appears to be at the right club to further his development. Pulisic does seem very mature from the interviews I have seen of him and seems very intelligent.

From what I have seen of Pulisic I do believe he would instantly improve us if he was to play on the RW, how much he would improve us by I am not sure. You also stated he is more dangerous on the left, sadly that’s not what we need right now, so it’s either we play him on the right and give him the time to improve playing on that side of the pitch or we just forget about him altogether.

In my opinion, it may be best for him to stay at Dortmund for another year playing regular first-team football in a competitive league and playing for a team in the Champions League. However, the risk is his valuation and stock may rocket up and we may miss out on him to a team like Real or Barcelona if he has an exceptional season.

I would take a punt on him this season, purely because there are not too many outstanding right sided players and the ones that are quality, like a Bale, they seem to be unrealistic signings. Pulisic is clearly a young talent and will only improve.
I think he should stay at Dortmund because he still isn't the outright "star" on that team yet and he should get to that level first. With that being said he is a top talent indeed and thats a tuff pill to swallow for some because he is from the US but this kid is a massive talent. Also I believe he is better in the middle of the field then the wing. Lastly if he were to come to United the amount of media attention and exposure that United would get by having the poster boy and biggest talent ever in the US would be insane (not that United need it but still).

We should go and get this guy Now, instead of wasting time chasing the likes of Bale and Perisic.

After Kagawa and Mikhi, I don't care how decent this guy seems - I'd steer well clear.

To be fair their are certain players and clubs who dont match and United and kagawa was one of them. As for Mikhi you can see his talent but you guys didn't use him to his full potential. Regardless Pulisic going to United at this point in his career would be a shot in the foot for his career. He needs to stay at BVB longer perfect club for him.

Or even Leon Bailey who had a better season than Pulisic. Any of them would improve our right wing.

a) He doesn't look ready yet.
b) He would probably cost a 9 figure sum, which makes him too high a risk given a)

Next summer, if he doesn't renew his contract, he might be a available for a reasonable price that reduces the risk

Malcom signed for Barca for less than 40m and he had a better season than Pulisic.

Malcom - 2867mins - 87 key passes / 75 shots / 42.7% on target / 141 dribbles / 66.0% successful

Bailey - 2223mins - 59 key passes / 76 shots / 36.8% on target / 182 dribbles / 42.3% successful

Pulisic - 2313mins - 30 key passes / 38 shots / 42.1% on target / 118 dribbles / 49.2% successful

And? That has nothing to do with absolutely anything. Valuations are not based on stats but purely on how much the selling club (BVB) values the player under contract and whether they need to sell or not.

You mean to tell me there is a stat that backs up Chelsea’s current 70m valuation of Willian or BVB’s 147m valuation of Dembele last year? Maybe send Chelsea your stats and they will sell us Willian for 30m, yes?

Barcelona got scammed in an incredible way.

They got absolutely rinsed on both the Dembele and Coutinho deals, a product of both Dortmund and Liverpool knowing they had money to throw about. Coutinho's a really good player but 142 million or so? Insane fee. Both Liverpool and Dortmund did fantastically.

They won't be selling Coutinho anytime soon but Dembele is someone who hasn't seemed to gel well or fit in with the Barca way. I wonder if we could perhaps get him on a loan for 2 seasons with the option to buy like what Bayern did with James.

Pulisic would be great as well but not sure he's as talented as Dembele. But knowing that Pulisic is a United fan, I could see him staying here and becoming a legend as opposed to the Dembeles and Mbappes

I think they will probably keep him and hope he comes good. That deal was pretty unique, I doubt Barca would offer it to be honest.

Pulisic should stay at Dortmund at least another season. I think he's a fantastic talent but he's not ready for a move to a bigger club, he's still inconsistent and needs to work on boosting his end product. Next year maybe but right now I think he'd do well to stay at Dortmund.

I'm both an American and a Red Devil and I DON'T want him at United. He's not ready for the spotlight on this level and I don't want him on our 2nd team playing cup games. I want him getting 40 games or more per year and to continue to develop into the player that I believe he can become.

Every time I've seen him play for Dortmund recently, he has looked like a player that has outgrown them.

Lately he's looking like he could get those 40 games with us. You have to make the jump at some point.

If that happens we might never get him, however, and if we do we could be looking at £200m

He could ideally do with another few seasons really, I think a move to any big club in the next couple of years would be too soon. Plus he'll have a few years left on his contract so he might not be attached to an astronomical price tag if he were to leave.

Yeah, ideally for at least another two seasons he should just be left to develop at Dortmund, it's a great place for a young attacking player to thrive. I guess teams want to bring him in before he explodes, as if that happens they'll have to pay a Dembelesque fee.

If the reported 70m fee is accurate, and we do end up spending similar on Willian, I'll be slightly miffed. Just hope he doesn't end up at rival.

Has any player that has performed well at Dortmund, gone on the be an absolute star at a bigger team?

I watched him a fair bit for them at the back end of last season and he isn't anywhere near the player people seem to think he is on here, from what I have seen at least.

Not to say he can't kick on but I doubt Mourinho would go for him as he's short and slight. He was marked out of the game by packed defences. He would suit Liverpool or Arsenal more.

Absolute stars are rare but Hummels and Lewandowski have been good players for Bayern. Gotze had health issues like Sahin and Gundogan. Dembélé missed half of his first season out due to an injury and then you have Kagawa, Mkhi and probably others that are part of the normal ratio of failed transfers.

This guy is a no brainer, lots of potential on the field, lots of potential off the field, bvb want Martial and if Martial wants to go then a swap deal of some sort can be made

Lewandowski, Hummels for starters. Gundogan was important last season for City and did well for them, we will see how Mhiki does at Arsenal this season, Gotze had a great first season at Bayern but then started suffering from injuries.

So, yes, players have gone from Dortmund to be successful at other teams.

Does he play on the right? If yes, then he's perfect for us.

I have mainly seen him on the right but like few others, I'm still on the fence. He is talented but the hype surpasses his actual current abilities.

Then you watched a very particular set of games, I´m afraid.

Pulisic struggled last season like the majority of our players including a pretty steep slump at the tail end of the first season half. That was completely normal and expected from an 19 year old.

Pulisic is right now first and foremost two things: marketing gold including a very big hype and tons of potential.

The sensible thing for him to do would be to extend his contract with far better conditions and then transfer in two or three years as matured and developed player to an elite team. Unfortunately he appears to have grown impatient and might have bought a bit of his own hype.

Maybe the jump to a bigger team might give him the next push in his personal development or maybe he repeats the same mistake like many other super talents and wants too much too quickly. Right now, I would wager on the latter outcome.

One thing is for certain, though. No team he would go to would show as much patience with him as we did and still do.

Ah okay, seen quite a few posters saying this here. Btw, since you're French, what's your opinion on Thauvin? He's got a really great record for Marseille playing on the right wing.

I like him, but I'm not sure he's ready yet. Only 4 goals and 7 assists in 41 appearances last season. We've already got a prospect in Chong, so if we did get a RW, I'd rather it was someone more proven.

The thing about Thauvin is that he was very good at 18-19 years old but for some reason his head turned into a watermelon and he refused to be patient and take the necessary steps, he pushed for a move to Marseille when the club wasn't ready to support him and where the expectations are always extremely high, he logically failed and was sent to Newcastle when he was probably not mature enough to move abroad. Now, it seems that he put himself back on track and is showing his initial talent, it's the second season so you can assume that it's not a mirage. Personally, I think that he has more in his locker but I don't really trust him yet, he needs to show more character.

The sensible thing for him to do would be to run down his contract and then transfer in two years as matured and developed player to an elite team, while cashing in a huge signing fee.
