Christian Falk: Bayern make Thiago, Bernat, Vidal and Boateng available for transfer

People have been worried about us being linked to workhorses and average players but not to world class players, but here we are turning our noses on an actual world class midfielder.
If people actually do care, perhaps they should ignore what the media say and actually watch Thiago closely. Sure he's got some consistency and injury issues, but he's probably the most complete midfielder out there. I can't think of any midfield position he can't play; deep, advanced, wide, he's equally adept and world class at all of them.
There's no way people should want Fred or even Savic over Thiago. He's the perfect guy to take us to the next level and complete the midfield, providing much needed dynamism at both ends and serious creativity in attack.
If Thiago is available, then we should do every realistic thing to sign him. I doubt we would though as he's probably too good for us.

Buy all four and solve all our issues. Thiago next to Pogba. Vidal can cover all areas. Bernat is an attacking fullback in bad form and under utilised. Boateng-Injury prone but Jose would need to put the sh** ton of fitness coaches he has to use and get a solid season out of him. Add a RW like Grizi or Bale and we have one of the best squads in Europe.

Boateng could be a risk worth taking. At his best he is top class and could transform our defense.

I could see Pep pushing to buy Bernat and just selling one of Delph or Zinchenko to pay for it, to give them a stronger backup to Mendy.

Obviously we should buy Thiago.

Thiago would be amazing. But I am not sure where exactly he would play and what role Mourinho would use him in. But if he's available at a reasonable price (Probably not, and considering the Schweiny Saga, I doubt Bayern would be willing to do peaceful negotiations with us), we should definitely go for him.

Thiago would be the No. 10 we've not had.... He would play behind Lukaku... or in a midfield 3 with Pogba and Fred.

Honestly, Thiago & Fred and we could still buy a top notch attacker since we wouldn't buy SMS for 100m

But that's the thing. He's so versatile, he can just about play anywhere in midfield. I wouldn't want to use him at No 10, but in a midfield three is fine. I am not sure what Jose's thinking is either since he slowly shifted to a midfield three over the last few months. I personally prefer him in a deeper role though, think he plays best there. We could use a Thiago/Fred/Pogba mid when we really want to go after teams and can bring in Matic for the bigger games where more cover might be needed and Shift Thiago to do Fred's job.

But yeah, bringing in Thiago and Fred is an immediate upgrade to our midfield, both in terms of quality as well as variations available.

Why could we not play a midfield three of Matic, Thiago and Pogba?

Matic sits deep with Thiago on the right and Pogba on the left. I mean City manage to play just one deep Mid with two creative in front and it has been ok ;).

And Bayern will sell them and pick up a couple of up and coming youngsters from other German teams and not miss a beat
You overestimate the abundance of talent among youngsters from other german teams.

The only one I'd be interested in is Vidal and that's only if he was on the cheap.

30 year old drunk not at the world cup. Surely you can find someone on the caf for close to nothing?

The reason that only you seem to see... - do not talk of we...

He does not have the "unsellable tag" on him that he had last season. And he seems to want to leave. As there is 9 players for 3 positions the club might let him go if a good offer comes in.

It’s only me? Hm, most have dreamed that discussion we had on him last week. As for Lewandowski: we knew what would happen and we need to profit. Simple.

If you are are playing in a possession based "system" then having two creative players in a midfield trio is needed.
We/Mourinho do not play a possession based "system", so having extremely technical players like Thiago would not suit the way we play.
If we started to play possession based attacking football next season, then Thiago would be the player to get. Much rather have Thiago instead of Fred, and hopefully this is why Fred has not been confirmed yet.

Heinrichs, Pulisic, Bailey, Ascacibar, Sancho, Weigl, Dahoud, Werner....top of my head and I havent even watched much German football this year.

Sorry, but nothing here is simple..this one has the potential to become a legendary transfer odyssee keeping us entertained the whole summer.

I have no doubts, that Lewa would like to move to Real, Paris or maybe City, but the way Hoeneß & Co. talked over the last year about players on strike and how super amazing they would handle such cases..giving guarantees about him staying and so on. This could become epic, IF Lewa really wants it.

The only successor would be Werner, but Leipzig have made it 100% clear, that Werner is going nowhere this summer..next year is much more likely contract 1y. Only an absurd sum on the other side of 100m€ could maybe change things. I dont see it happening, but wouldnt rule out anything here.

Tricky

With the number of games we play, we need a strong bench. Having Pogba, Thiago and Fred along with Matic and Herrera provides us with a lot of quality and we do not need to rely on Pogba like we did when he got injured and got sent off from the Arsenal game.

Thiago and Fred with Matic behind them are pretty strong midfield... obviously Matic being not so dynamic part but still strong. If the rumors are true, Woodward should be all over this transfer. Thiago can play as a 6, 8 or 10.... he would easily be better than anyone we have in central midfield at the moment.

Different class. Verratti is the one.

Thiago at 27 being sold for 52m is a really good deal. If we don't move right now and he has a good World Cup, I can see Real, PSG, City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all joining in.

Verrati is great too but he's not worth the 100m being quoted by PSG especially after this season.

Barca should do everything they can to buy back Thiago. He would be a perfect replacement for Iniesta.

Bayern is in for a massive overhaul. You've got these four, then there's Müller, who's stated in an interview that he was interested in exploring other options, Lewandowski who clearly wants out, Robben and Ribery on the decline, Neuer with some sketchy injuries and bad recoveries etcetera: they need to do something to keep competitive, internationally...

Actually Müller did not. He was asked if he would forever stay at Munich. And he answered that right now he does not think about doing something different but cannot rule this out for the future as you never know what happens in professional football.

Some online sources just want to generate klicks...

Well, one more winger and we are sorted for Robbery. Ribery already was just backup, people just got a wrobg impression because Coman was injured for the Real games and that’s all everyone watched ...

A) what that fella in the thread title said, it has been in German Media for almost 4 weeks now. Old news.

B) Bayern do not want to "get rid of" at least Boateng - the player has made it public he may be tempted by a move.

C) main reason Thiago is in discussion is he wants to be back in Spain for personal reasons
Barca wants him as Iniesta replacement, but also they have a rule that if you left Barca, you're not coming back. It's a sign toward their youth programme players. Their dilemma, not Bayerns.

Well it was old news until you bumped the thread to tell us it's old news.

What about Fabregas or Pique then?

Thiago for 50m-60m would be a good signing. I'm not sure about Boateng, he seems to be injury prone. Someone like Koulibaly would be better imo.

4 weeks isn't that old if it is just to put players on the market. Bidding desn't tend to happen as quickly as on football manager or fifa.

Fabregas, Pique & Alba all left and came back.
They do insert buy-back clauses into their sales: Deulofeu, Traore, Halilovic etc. Had or have buy-back clauses.

Bild quotes Rummenigge saying that they are still planning with Thiago in the squad for next season.

Why does no one mention Havertz? 35 games, 4 goals, 8 assists is amazing for a CM of his age.

Wasn't the quote something like "we plan with him for next season, but we have many midfielders"?
