Given the fact only one of them is anywhere near United quality, I'm hoping Eriksen.

Well it is debatable whether he is good enough for utd but I certainly wouldn't say he was far off. He is better than cleverley and Anderson.

I think this is a great move from Dortmund to replace Gotze, he's young, plays CAM and is a bright prospect. Seen him about 5 times properly, and he's looked great every time I've seen him. I've heard some say he shines in big games but is non existent in a lot of smaller ones, but perhaps in a team like Dortmund that will quickly fade. Would much rather see him there than at Liverpool, god that would be a waste.

Lewandowski and Gotze out, Benteke, Eriksen and De Bruyne in.

Probably with a profit of about €10 -€15 million (enough to buy Sahin back?), too. Brilliant business from Dortmund if they can pull it off.

Tbf Hernanes is 27 and can't get ahead of Lucas in the Brazilian NT.

Romeu is only 21. Unfair to compare them.

Not the same position, and picking Brasil national team for anything at a fair comparative is plain wrong. Brazil has three good CMs: Ramires, Paulinho and Hernanes. You get tons of mediocre players playing there, but it doesn't mean they are up for it. Only that someone will be making a profit soon.

Hernanes is vital at Lazio, and plays anywhere the midfield, even behind the striker. Romeu, well, what has he done?

Dortmund are reported to have agreed a 5y deal with de Bruyne (though no agreement with Chelsea yet), English press linked them with Benteke, German and Brazilian press linked them with Mineiro's Bernard (both club's bosses supposedly met for dinner in Brazil to discuss a deal and some source (don't remember which) wrote that they met the boy and his family and talked about how they could smooth out the transition for him). The rather reliable German sportspaper 'Kicker' also reported that they made a stop in Argentina on their way back from Brazil to scout 19 year old Luciano Vietto. They are also heavily linked with Hamburg's Heung-Min Son and their officials confirmed reports from Portoguese media, that a delegation from the club was watching Porto:Benfica, supposedly scouting Jackson Martinez and maybe (only a few reported that) James Rodriguez. They also asked United about Kagawa according to German press.
So while the player stated his desire to join Dortmund and Ajax confirmed an enquiry from Dortmund he might just be one of many candidates in the end.

He's a definite downgrade to Gotze.

Gotze is the best player in his position at his age, it's nothing to be ashamed of to be called a downgrade to him. They'll never be able to replace him for a like to like straight away, but it's as close as they'll get with Eriksen I believe.

Sturridge and Coutinho.

He'd be perfect for Dortmund. I'd love to see him go there.

Sturridge and Coutinho.

They've signed up to a team who I'd say are the seventh best team in England right now, and that's not just because of their table position, they are behind all the other top 6 teams in terms of quality, maybe not Everton. They may not be playing European football for a good couple of years, because they just don't have the squad to do it.

Signing for Dortmund means you sign for a German club who won the last two Bundesligas, has a fantastic system going on and have made the CL final by beating the likes of Malaga, Porto and Real Madrid. Plus if you compare the two managers he could work with, I know which one would be favoured. Sturridge and Coutinho have done well, I'll give them that. But they've come halfway into a season into a club who were midtable and nothing desperate to fight for apart from complete humiliation of being in the bottom half of the table. They haven't been complete wastes no, but let's see next season how useful they turn out to be for Liverpool.

Buying Eriksen is incredible? Jesus. He's one of the most talented players in a position they need to fill, he's already said he wants to leave, his contract's only got one year left and they're a very attractive proposition with their focus on youth leading to plenty of success. Making a move for him is very obvious.

I don't think they were ever set to "beat us" to Eriksen, hardly heard any interest from us this year for him.

But£10 mil is an amazing deal; he isn't Gotze standard, but they make a £20 mil profit for someone who is in a similar mould and age, great business. I can see him doing well.

Additionally, Dortmund seem like they dont mind selling their best players either. So if he improves further, he could easily realize his play-for-Barca dreams.

Very good business by Dortmund. All the muppet targets this summer are getting snapped up very early! If you snooze you lose.

He's an obvious target but a lot of clubs miss obvious targets year in year out. We've lacked quality in midfield for years and plenty of obvious available targets have appeared during that time yet Fergie signed none of them. I admire how Klopp replaces all departing players immediately - Gundogan for Sahin, Reus for Kagawa, Eriksen and de Bruyne for Götze, Sokratis for Santana. He doesn't waste time, that's for sure.

He scored brilliant free kick against Georgia yesterday.

I'm not entirely convinced but for 10M euros you'd be daft not to see.

Dortmund sort of denied it. When asked about media reports that they are about to finalize the signing of Eriksen their director of football Zorc is quoted with 'I was surprised when I read that'.
