Yeah, he's finished.

Probably shouldn't play a meaningful minute again.

He won't be here next season. Time to try other solutions in there.

Couldnt control the ball, couldnt find teammates and doesnt win the ball enough. 82.7% pass accuracy, for him thats poor

Plays in slow motion. Another player brought in the wrong side of 30 with a big contract. Mental.

Past it.

He was probably past it 12-18 months ago.

He can't run, track back or tackle, and even trying to run takes so much out of him that when he does get the ball, he's too knackered to pass the ball accurately, which was his main strength.

Him and Casemiro should never be seen together in a United midfield again.

Very surprised his pass % was that high. Casemiro is getting a lot of criticism and rightly so but I thought Eriksen was almost as bad in that first half. Just completely off the pace.

He's too limited. He can't keep up with the pace of the game. The things that he used to do well before, he can't do well now. Got to move him on.

I'm baffled that people still argue he's been a good signing. He was showing signs of decline when he left Tottenham. He had one 90 minute game for Inter in his second season there

I imagine he'll sit on his contract until the summer and head off on a free rather than go in January but I'd be surprised if he starts many, if any, games between now and May.

The whole team was off the pace in the first half

Said it at the end of last season but I’ll be happy when I never see his name in the starting 11 again. I’m really not one for bashing players like that but he’s got no business playing centre mid for a premier league team any more.

We all thought he was coming to be Bruno’s back up and suddenly Ten Hag started playing him central midfield and everyone just seems to accept that his position is in a midfield two.

He's horrendously out of his depth. He was a great player before his cardiac arrest, and he could probably play 10 in a much easier league, but he's not cut out for the PL anymore and he's certainly not cut out to be a CM. Why would he even want to be? He's taking huge risks playing after his cardiac arrest and for what? To play here, for the worst united team in decades? I'd retire if I were him.

The Eriksen before Andy Carroll's tackle was a nice asset to have in the squad, the Eriksen after has been woeful and should be a high priority to move on.

Same. I think it might be because some of them are counted as as "unsafe touches". He had 2 of those, joint 2nd most with Mazraoui and Hojlund with the most at 5

Brought us exactly what is expected when you try placing a rather weak AM player into central midfield without additional measures to support him properly. Was a good addition when we brought him in - but should have been gone the year after and even in his first year, probably shouldn't have had an almost starting eleven role.

He seems like a very character, I wish him, that he'll find a place nice with good weather to continue to play at a different level, there is still a player in there when used properly. Just not in the PL. And certainly not at United.

Not often you can point to a singular moment like that Carroll tackle as the end of a top level for a player

I don't feel it's worth it to waste energy criticising a player who should be in the MLS.

Have to agree. We all know what it is. The club likely do as well. Just shocking from Amorim to start him and Casemiro against the athletic thoroughbreds that make up Newcastle's central midfield. I knew the game was lost before a single kick.

Or should be dead, really. It's crazy to think he'd even play again and I wasn't against him training with us to regain fit ess etc but who he's still here and starting games is ridiculous.

Who would be next up from the youth set up for his position? He should be nowhere near a matchday squad for the rest of the season while there are hungry youth players to give experience and minutes to. Even just having some of the youth in the travelling squad to sit on the bench would be great experience for them. We should be bedding in some youth talent because they cannot be any worse that Eriksen and I'd argue some of them have better physical attributes than him. He's just so timid. Gail Platt in a United kit.
