I think Eriksen will leave after the euros. He plays in a completely different role for Denmark and he needs to find a team where he can play the same role without having to do all the defensive work that he cannot do.

Well. I have said it about 20 times. Eriksen is a 10, and this is what he can do if used right. He is competing with Bruno though and probably needs to go, if he want to play regularly.

He usually plays a little deeper for Denmark as well, not like a traditional 10. This game is also a bit of a throwback to prime Eriksen. I haven’t seen him move like that since he was at Tottenham.

It was nice to see him playing his natural position again. In United he has to defend too much, as his position is another here.

I am a danish sport journalist, so I am following the national team closely. He IS normally playing a little deeper than today, but without the defensive work load he has to carry at Manchester United. Today, he was a pure ten in a 3-5-2 formation, and delivered his best performance in the last two years. I have been skeptical of him after the Andy Caroll foul, but this was actually an eye opener. He was absolutely brilliant today. Razor sharp corners and he was surprisingly suddenly moving very well. This was a throw back to the Tottenham Eriksen, that I did not expect to see anymore, but it is apparently still there if used accordingly to his strenghts. He won´t get past Bruno though, so a move away it is. Very happy to see him back today though. MOTM for me by a country mile.

The intensity of a friendly match two weeks before a major European tournament hardly translates like for like to how he's expected to play for Manchester United twice a week. I think he's pretty much done at the very top level.

Nah everyone is already ready to add him to the list of players we now should keep even though we know aren't good enough. He can join amrabat in midfield next year and people can wonder why we finish mid table at best again

Was saying this in the other thread by copy pasta

Eriksen was barely used as a #10 this season and I still think he's good enough to be Bruno's backup. For some reason we use him in that Mainoo / Mount role and expect him to press high and show recovery pace and get back on transition and he obviously looks extremely leggy when that happens. He also doesn't get a lot of set pieces (FKs, Corners etc.) despite being very good at them.

This is one of those players that would go to the Italian league, starts killing in the CL SF and everyone will be wondering why our rejects suddenly look so good.

Square pegs round holes all over the place in this side.

Who's saying that? Looks like you're opposing an argument you made up yourself.

He can only play as a 10. We should use him accordingly. Give Bruno a breather!

"Christian Eriksen dominated the midfield for Denmark against Slovenia, directly contributing to 12 scoring chances (5 shots, 7 created). This sets a new EURO record for midfielders since Mesut Özil in 2012. "

Really wanna see him play as a 10 for us - I know with Bruno it's not gonna happen though.

Another PotM award. Eriksen also became the most capped male player in Danish history with 133 caps.

Eriksen is leading the "chances created" list after the group stage at the Euro with 13. KdB is second at 11 chances. 1 goal, 1 assist and 2 POTM for Christian as well. Denmark has been mediocre, but Eriksen has been pretty good playing the 10 role.

He can leave the tournament with his head held high. Performed to a high standard and wasn’t one of these ageing players who looked like it was one tournament too many. Strange that in two years we never used him in an advanced midfield position at all, as he clearly can’t compete further back.

Hopefully this tournament would see him attract interest, preferably PL interest, as everyone else seems to be selling their players domestically (where the real money is) except us. Brentford can hopefully be tempted, or a promoted side looking for experience.
