United haven't announced the Shaw bid. In fact, both have been broken in much the same way.
It was a leak? That's what I thought in Shaw thread and was corrected. I'm so confused...

No it's not, he's not a world class centre forward. It's a sensible fee from all parties' perspective, refreshing to see.
The market value is so outstandingly over priced nowadays that it's good to see as sensible a fee as £32 million for Costa, it's hardly a bargain though.Given todays market value, I would classify it as a bargain personally. Look at the amount being thrown about for Cavani. Costa has scored 37 goals with 17 assists in the last two La Liga seasons. That's pretty blood good. I'd have him in my top 10 strikers in the world easily.

Yup, agreed.Obviously what they've needed. It's early days but can see Chelsea being the team to stop next season.

Cognitive dissonance

I think they have come to an agreement whereas we have just put in a bid.
Just like this Costa to Chelsea story is. There's been no official confirmation from Chelsea.
This is how football news works these days - it's all about clandestine briefings and information being leaked.
I actually agree - he only managed 34 goals in 109 games in la liga before 27 in 34 this year.
He's a 1 in 3 striker having an outstanding season.
It does sound a bit contradictory to say he's exactly what they need and perfect for the premiership whilst simultaneously thinking Mourinho won't get the best out of him. How come he's perfect for them then?I think you have misinterpreted what cognitive dissonance is.
Someone retweeted on my timeline an article saying that Chelsea are set to record their highest ever profit and earnings for this past season. That and Mourinho saying a few weeks back that Chelsea can comfortably pay £50m for a single player if they saw it fit. Don't think they're near trouble at all in regards to FFP.So does this count as a splurge or a safe buy keeping the FFP in mind?
They needed a striker more than anyone, why would they save money to put it elsewhere? £32m is a good price.Good player but seems a bit of a waste for a FFP Chelsea - that's 32m they can't spend elsewhere. With Lukaka already in the bank perhaps they could have played him. Or if they wanted a guaranteed upgrade on what they had, they should have gone all out for one of the very best strikers.

Chelsea have "agreed a fee."How is this anymore done than say Shaw? Why are people saying Chelsea are showing us how to do things?
It's SSN which is basically like saying it's nothing very much at all. I despair.
25How old is Costa?
I think he's had only one outstanding year.
