With him being versatile I’m sure he will do. With a packed schedule we will need quality for rotation I’m happy with this going off the things I’ve read.
good; i hope he does well at your club. He's a talent. Sadly though, i can see us cashing in within next 2 years. Some will disagree with that opinion, but we have 4 Cb who are not top level albeit decent. Ampadu does well whenever given a chance whether it was with us, Wales, or Leipzig. Yet we have still opted against using him. And the club have chosen the Thiago Silva and supposedly Declan Rice option. The latter can also play DM, as can Ampadu.
If he did well at Sheff U and Wilder stuck 10-20m on the table next summer, i think he'd go. But it'd be a mistake by the club. We all know that is one of the points in loaning players out, see how they develop and possibly entice large bids.
Edouard Mendy looks almost done, too. Report states a defensive midfielder will follow Mendy. Rice is wanted, Boubakary Soumare also being looked at
To be fair the young players need game time and getting it on loan at another PL club is the biggest test. If Ampedu smashes it at Sheff United, then he must be a strong shout for returning to the club as a first team player next season. I hope so anyway, I have huge hopes for him, his composure even at 17 was absolutely remarkable.
Interesting. It’s a shame that that’s the way it works, surely you’d want to get the best academy talent into the first team somehow. It’s good to see that he is rated highly though, I’m loving our recruitment recently.
He's not an academy talent. We signed him from Exeter after he'd played for their first team.
Not that it really matters, I think he's a potentially top player and hopefully he gets lots of games (I personally think midfield is his best position).

If we somehow, some way pulled off the signing of Rice I think our expectations of a comfortable top 4 finish have to be adjusted to a genuine title push. We will have addressed literally every area of weakness in our team with absolute quality. Rice seems impossible this summer, though.

I really don't see it with Declan Rice. Would be nice to have an academy boy back but meh.

For 35 to 40 million, yes. But i think West Ham were quoting us 80 million a few months ago.
It's not even the cost for me. I wouldn't really want him in our first XI if he cost £1 million.
I just think he'd be the perfect compliment to the rest of our midfield. He and Kante together would be an awesome screen for our defense. And Rice is very underrated carrying the ball forward.
Certainly not a £70-80m player but if we can do a Chilwell and get him for a much more reasonable fee it's a no-brainer for me.
The fact that Rice is getting starts for England is somewhat worrying and shows the lack of talent we have at center mid. He is currently a mid table prem midfielder. Jack of all trades but master of none. Hints of Morgan Schneiderlin so really needs a lot of work to take the next step.
On paper, the team you have there should be challenging for the title. But, I think a lot would depend on how the team settles. 5 of that team has not played in the PL, 5 of them probably have not trained with the team for more than 10 days before the first game, 3 in your back five are new and have not trained together. It's still a team that isn't as good as City or Liverpool with starting 11 and not with City for depth, and then of course you have Lampard vs Klopp/Pep. Some gaps at City like left back and center back, but both sides have decent depth all round (Liverpool lacking in final 3rd depth) with absolute world class starting 11s. Not to mention coaching differences which are massive, regardless of how Lampard has done. Are the signings going to make up a 30 point difference? Not quite. Can see Chelsea getting up to the upper 70's or lower 80's even, but those signings aren't capable of pushing them up to City/Liverpool level as they wouldn't even start for those teams.Bernardo Silva KdB

Don't think we'll win it, mind. Just that if these last two signings come off we should then be thinking of a title challenge. As in we're in the conversation towards the end of the season.

You've pretty much bought an entire new football team! Must've been an entertaining transfer window for the fans.
I think you've definitely secured third or even second if one of City or Liverpool slip up. The big question for you though is how well your signings adapt to a new league and new team. It's a lot of changes in a short time.
Yeah it’s a risk, but it was needed. As long as we get at least 3rd we could afford a failure amongst the new guys too, and still be pushing for title contention the following season I think.

It could work if we slowly bed atleast 2-3 in Klopp/Fabinho style.

Other than stats, nobody have no clue who this guy is before he was linked with Chelsea.
Guy is 6.4 tall. Having save percentage of 78%. Good at commanding the box. Have great reflexes and agility. He was recommended by Cech our technical director. Should be better than kepa by any means.

I just don't have clue how many more players chelsea will bring in. Suddenly soumare name come up as a back up plan for rice. One goal keeper surely on the list. So minimum 1 maximum 2 .
Assuming the goal keeper Chelsea bring in as a sure starter we bought potentially six starters including T.Silva. Werner,ziyech,havertz,chilwell,T.Silva and a goal keeper.

We know Chilwell isn't starting the season, as he's still injured. Silva hasn't taken part in any training yet, so he likely won't be involved at the start of the season. Havertz has only trained alone, as the rest are on international duty so perhaps Lampard will hold him back for the first game or two. I haven't heard anything about Ziyech's injury since he came off in the Brighton game, I don't know if he has trained since. There were rumours he also might miss the start of the season.
So we're looking at just Werner as a nailed on starter in the opening game?

Also add to that Pulisic being injured, plus Kovacic suspended and the team against Brighton could look very different from our favoured team in a few weeks.

Not sure what he brings that you can't already get from Jorginho or Kovacic. Seems like a bit of an indulgence if you end up getting him.
I disagree jorginho offers no protection in front of the back 4 and kovacic ia always driving forward. Having someone who sits in front of the back 4 lets kante be kante and press and harry all over the pitch.
We are oftentimes completely exposed in the middle of the pitch when the ball turns over quickly with Jorginho in there. For me he can only really play against certain opponents.

Both Ole and Lampard are building teams in such a way, even they get sacked any new manager will be benefited. Good for the clubs.
Yeah the difference is definitely the depth mainly, but also the types of players if not individual quality. Theirs all make sense around each other and its pretty clear how they all play together when in form. Our front 3 isn't clear like that, because while Martial and Rashford are both excellent and Greenwood is a top youngster, theyre all too similar in styles and you want one to be creative rather than a mainly scorer. Thats where Sancho made so much sense, to compliment 2 of the other 3 and also sort out depth.
Our front 3 is very clear that the three of them are playing in fluid front three where they can also interchange their position, playing with pace to exploit opposition defenders with the support of creative players behind them.
We have Pogba & Bruno who offer creativity while Kovacic isn't really as creative as those two. Rashford also had 7 league assists last season which the same number as Mane, while Havertz has 6 assists last season. We are also being linked with either Telles or Reguilon which are attacking full backs and both offer the creativity from width.
End of the day, manager can create the balance through 11 players not just 3 players.
Though your front line players are very good they are not elite level players yet. May be they will grow into elite level players but they are very inconsistent to consider in that bracket as of now.
That's why you need some one like Sancho. I consider only Bruno the elite level player in your team not even pogba with his inconsistent performances for you ever since he signed for you.
Your team need upgrade in LB, Pacey CB, winger and if you can one back up or better DM than matic.
Saw him play for Reims against Lyon a few years back and he looked class. Was only a single game though.
