Charlie Adam | Set for talks with Liverpool

Good for us if he won't play on Wednesday. I hope Blackpool get decent money from Liverpool for him though.

Can't really blame him really. Heard he is only getting 10k a week at Blackpool - is that true?

You don't stay at Blackpool when a club like Liverpool are after you.

Pretty much. He probably never dreamed he'd be getting offers from a club like Liverpool considering how he's been in his career so far. Forced out of rangers, Loan spells at lower league clubs and then his revival at Blackpool.

For him this is his opportunity. YOu can't grudge him for wanting it.

Doubt it. He will either go for around £5m or he won't go.

These new Liverpool owners doesn't seem willing to pay more than what they deem is right.

Blackpool would be mad to accept 5m. No Adam could mean relegation.

They'll have no choice really if he agitates for a move.

Course they can. They can just tell him they won't sell now. He wouldn't be helping his career by going on strike or anything.

Looking forward to hearing what Holloway has to say about this.

Remember his rant when Rooney handed in his transfer request!

No, of course that doesn't automatically mean that.

I'd dig my heels in if I was Blackbpool, as they would get the same in the summer for him though.

If they stay up then yes, if they go down then no. That said, they have a much better chance of survival if they stay up. He seems to be a troublesome type of character though, and if he doesn't want to be there, maybe they should take the 6 mil now and try to sign a replacment from the lower divisions quickly.

I like him as a player by the way, not Utd quality, but a very good prem player.

In the modern game the player has most of the power.

Depends if Holloway thinks he can manage a potentially disgruntled player.

I watched Blackpool play the other night, and Adams didn't play with the air of someone who didn't give a damn.

If he's forced to stay(unlikely, I think they'll let him go) he'll be a professional, and not sulk.

Will Liverpool not want him at the end of the season? even still Villa, Everton et al would still be in for him.

No guarantees that Liverpool would want him in the summer.

Villa, Everton etc are not Liverpool. Liverpool is the 2nd biggest club in the UK.

He wont say anything of the sort. It's a hugely different situation. For a start Rooney was baught for massive amounts of money, is at the best club in the league and the biggest club in the world already. A club that has done an awful lot for him.

Adam was baught for relative peanuts, hasnt been at Blackpool long and really owes not alot to them. If anything they owe him more, he's been the catalyst for Blackpool getting to where they are now. Holloway of course but Adam has been the key player. Sort of like how Owen Coyle was for Burnley.

Holloway will probably come out saying he's dissapointed Charlie opted to do it but he can't blame him, it being a big club in Liverpool and all and will probably dig his heals in and talk about the money needing to be right and also will probably blame the other clubs, managers, agents for unsettling his boy.

Why can't he just sign a pre-contract with Liverpool and stay on loan if you like at Blackpool. Would be the dignified way of leaving in my opinion and a sensible route for Blackpool if they have any ambitions in regards to staying up.

Nah he'll make some comment about not moving that far up the table and going to a team that his current side beat twice this season.

So how does this affect Lucas? Surely they need wide playes and a striker, possibly also a left back more than they need him?

Well, according to their Director of Football or whatever his title is, they are negotiating to sign Suarez and Ashley Young as well.

IF and thats a big IF, they did bring Adam, Suarez and Young in, you'd have to say fair play to them because that would be good business for them

What does everyone think of Adam? Will he have a Cantona-esque impact on Liverpool? He seems to be talented enough but looks to be a bit of a journeyman.

Because Liverpool need him now.

What? some of your posts border on insanity PS.

He'd be an idiot to turn down his chance of playing for Liverpool so that he can stay at Blackpool.

Not if he helped them stay up. Showing a bit of loyalty to a club that has helped get his career back on track wouldn't be to much to ask for. And its not like he would not have any offers at the end of the season.

Why not show loyalty to a club that took him from being hated by his own fans at Rangers, made him captain, changed his position, got promoted beyond all hopes and playing very well in the premier league.

A bit of loyalty goes a long way.

The problem for him is that he can't guarantee that Liverpool will still come in for him in the summer.

Yeah but he may also be looking at it from the point of view that if he waits til the summer to join Liverpool he could be moving down a division!
