Champions League Semi Finals (9th - 17th May)

City will make mince meat out of inter!

Normally I would say yes, but Italian teams can be extremely jammy when it comes to these finals. I could see them being battered for 89 minutes, not getting a chance at goal but also not conceding by some miracle, only to then land a lucky punch from a corner or free kick in the last minute.

Milan have been so poor this tie, offensively, defensively and in midfield yes they obviously miss bennacer. Thier tactics seem poor they can't build anything from the back this game the midfield completely outnumbered, krunic not at this level, giroud his time is over now too should really move him on as a starter

Congratulations to Inter. They played the tie well. Milan were poor overall and need another striker.

This. Write off this inter side at your peril for a final. They'll spoil, foul, kill the tempo, manipulate the referee if they can, frustrate, annoy and then smash you quickly on the counter attack. They shift it through midfield really quickly and directly and if you give Lautaro Martinez an inch he'll do the rest. Obviously everyone's money will be on Madrid or City and rightly so, but people saying "the final is tomorrow" is stupid.

Sad, sad end to the season for Milan. They desperately need refreshments in the transfer market this summer.

They probably have a much better chance than napoli would have had if they would have made it through because they will be happier to spoil and play on the break

Final isn't tomorrow but tomorrow does feel like 'final before final'. Like those semis between Barca and Real back in 2011. Obviously it's one game and we can't write off Inter though.

Massive massive game tomorrow. City all but have the League sewn up, if they beat Real Madrid they are overwhelming favourites for the CL and it will then be up to US to stop them winning the treble?

Shit son.

Ain’t stupid just facts. Inter have absolutely no chance in the final.

It's fine. Our players always turn up for the big games against strong opposition when away from home.

Another positive is that Inter is hitting form at the right time. This win I think makes it 8 in a row for them since the CL QF, having beaten Juventus, Roma, and Milan twice in this run. Hope they continue it till the CL Final.
Madrid / City will still be huge favourites to win it though.

This is false.
They might have a better chance than Napoli because they're in waaaaaaay better form. Not because of how they can play. Inter matchup badly against Madrid and horribly against City

Have to say, Milan-Inter might be the healthiest huge rivalry in football

Yeah considering form is fair.

It's the idea their style of play makes them a better opponent than Napoli in full song that is bogus

Napoli in full song would have been devastated by City, because they are, roughly said, worse copy of City.

They would play a different type of game, but with Kim, Osimhen and Kvara they would have a chance anyways

This basically translates to City 65 % vs Inter 35%... I find that too low. It's much closer to 80-20... The most obvious winner since Pool vs Spurs in 2019... But there was a bigger chock when Chelsea somehow won it in Munich against Bayern (With Robben missing a penalty in extra time)...

Check this... Inter lost 11 games in the league this season. Look at the teams that beat them. Some top teams in here: They lost to Empoli, Spezia, Monza, Udinese...

They are not stopping Abu Dhabi...

would it be harsh to think about sacking Pioli for de Zerbi
No. In their model (most teams do the same/similar), he's only a head coach getting the tune out of the squad. Now he has failed massively (not even making top 4), then they need to move on. Him winning Serie A with them is great, but they're not indebted to him like the old British manager system.

Just 2 more losses that the Chelsea team that beat Abu Dhabi in the CL final, and that also nobody had winning that final.

It doesn't work like that though.

Inter and their manager are great at cup football and one off games. Their squad has many experienced heads too and decent depth.

City have a mental weakness when it comes to a CL final or clutch games in Europe.

Plus, very rarely CL finals are high scoring. Most likely, it will be a low scoring affair which will again increase Inter's chances.

League form has nothing to do with CL form and an entire 38 game PL season is very different to a 13 game CL campaign.

Players like Dzeko and Mkhitaryan will be way better in a one off CL game than some of the young promising PL players people here twerk for. Tournament football is a different beast.

I mean they also lost a bunch of those games by missing a trillion open goal tap ins in each

If they finish 4th then he hasn't failed. Even as it is, a CL semifinal for this team is a huge achievement
