Champions League Semi Finals (9th - 17th May)

That bad? He's also part of the reason they keep the ball so much in fairness.
Only Bazuno and Meslier have a lower save % in the league. He is great on the ball alright but the main role of a gk has and always will be to keep the ball out of the net.

What's going on here?

Madrid have so much pace and technique on that left flank.

Shame Grealish didn't make contact with that punch. He'd have been off and Madrid would likely go on to win very comfortably

Trying to look at the bright side. If Madrid beats City they would have eliminated 6 Premier League teams in two years. It would be sweet after reading so many times that any other league is a farmers league.

Loving it against City but Madrid are getting away with murder here

Hes probably at the only club that can handle him. He'd be a disaster in our team

How is that not a red with any ref thats not from portugal or spain?

Looking at this teams and how they play, our only player who would be equally comfortable on the ball is Lisandro. The likes of Shaw and Rashford(for his directness, in a way Vinicius does) wouldn't look out of place. Casemiro and Bruno have their qualities, but passing wise I don't think they would look good, but they are winners, I am sure they would have their place.

Everyone else would look so out of place and nowhere near the displayed quality.

Yes because Casemiro looked like the weak link in the Madrid side that won everything with him didn’t he. The revisionism surrounding him this last month or so is just insane.

Pep needs to shut his mouth.

Let's hope Madrid score a couple more...

Imagine being 1-0 down, marked out of the game and giving it large to a 5 time CL winner.
Great stuff Jack
What kind of a mentality is that?

Your representing your club in a CL semi.

Why on Earth would you care about your opponent's credentials during the match in the heat of that moment? That would be the definition of loser mentality.

Yep. Maybe Carvajal deserved yellow before, but that was basically a dive.
Personally I'm surprised that Grealish wasn't sent off for flinging himself against those boards.

Madrid are the only team of any worth in Europe though, compared to England which have had 4 different teams appear in the final in last 4 years.

Casemiro literally won 5 CLs with Madrid... he looked absolutely fine

Casemiro won like 5 CLs for Madrid mate unless this is a wind up?

He's won, but he is not exactly at his peak. Modric and Kroos were far worse player than they used to be, they are being dominated easily, and even at their best their midfield was dominated quite often.

Not that I am underrating Casemiro, I just said passing wise, he can be quite poor passing wise even against shite opponent, but he is my favourite United players anyway.

City bottling the CL again? They've even lost a semi to Spurs ffs.

Embarrassing acting in that half and ref all over the place.

Vinicius is a literal menace. They have no idea what to do with him. You press past him, and you're absolutely dead on the counter. He couldn't care less about 1 on 1 battles either, as he's relentless and determined to find a way.

He made the best pass of the half and scored what I'm thinking is GOTS.

His character and mental fortitude are just immense. Unbelievable the growth he's displayed from being a teen most were unsure about until now.
