Champions League Semi Finals (24th April - 2nd May)

Except that Roma fans have prior for this that doesn't have anything to do with Liverpool, and the incident with City is unrelated as well.

And Liverpool don't ???

How is the City game unrelated , the Scoucers went way over the top before the City game and how they got away with it is baffling , if FIFA wanted to stamp out this behaviour they could have immediately post game warned Liverpool that any repeat of such scenes could cost the club I.e no tickets for the final for either club if this was repeated .30 years on and they still haven't learned.

I agree wholeheartedly Roma have previous too I have experienced, but it but it ain't surprising to me they came prepared after watching the pre City game shenanigans on tv.

Where ? Best Ive seen is 9/1. 150/1 in extra time and 250/1 on pens. I threw 50.00 on City to win the league when they drifted to 6/1 in 2014 . It hurts but it softens the blow. Ive booked my flights to Katowice from the 22nd / 29th May. Only a 100 return. Its easy to get to Kiev from there via Krakow and Lyiv or something. Those flights will rocket if we get there. The Krakow flights already have . If we dont get there Ive got a week in Katowice and Krakow. Of course I'd rather be in Kiev like.

On Betfair.

Yeah, I layed Liverpool to win the league on Betfair prior to the Chelsea match in 2014. We were 1.2 (1/5) going into the match, so I stuck £1,000 on it. My liability only being £200. I cashed out for a £340 profit after we lost the match because our odds went up again. Still, would gladly have taken the hit for £200 :(

Here's hoping you win 500 quid. Just for the sake of your missus ofcourse, nothing to do with Liverpool's not reaching the final.

Ha, ha. As much as I love my old lady, she fully understands that at full time on the night of the final I'd rather be joyfully hugging some sweaty 16 stone Scouser in a grotty pub than walking hand-in-hand with her along the romantic streets of Paris. It's a very close second though (just in case she reads this)

Ta.

Thinking of it I may actually throw 50 on Roma tonight to qualify as that will pay for my week in Katowice and Krakow if it goes tits up tonight. Tactics lad tactics.

Of course I would be chuffed to lose the 50.

And ... my kitchen is spotless as blitzed it before. I sign of nerves if every there was one

Garbage display by Real Madrid. Very lucky to be in the finals. This team is on its last legs and needs major surgery. Summer 2018 needs to be at least as big as Summer 2009.
On a positive note: If we win the finals, we would have beaten the French, Italian and German Champions !!!
Was about to post this in the madrid thread

Either we change the coach, or the team. They clearly don't work together anymore.

We should change the team anyways though. Not sure some of those guys have any hunger left in them. Time for some major surgery. Need to rethink the whole thing since we're not getting better (version of) players than Kroos or Modric or Benzema

there was also one on Lewa, that was softer but not softer than the one Real got against Juve in the QF.
It wasn't softer. Very clear, very obvious penalty. It was obvious to me live watching on tv, i've no idea how the ref saw a corner kick instead. Well i do...it was Cakir
It's borderline... pretty much impossible to tell, and there doesn't seem to be a conclusive angle anywhere around.

Also, comparing the foul on Lewa to the foul on Vazquez in the Juve game is a bit of a stretch
Handball looks inside the box and Ramos foul on Lewa was even more clear and obvious than the one on Lucas(which was clear and obvious already)

Still, if i were a bayern fan i wouldn't even complain about it. Shouldn't even have mattered, bayern beat themselves. It was a performance worthy of Spurs

I'm hoping atm you will go out with some energetic lineup in the final which will include Casemiro, Kovacic, Asensio, Vasquez inside while putting one of Kroos or Modric on the bench. Something like PSG away.

Probably no chance of that happening, though.

Don't waste your money

There's no way that Liverpool don't qualify tonight.

I just hope that Zidane stops fecking around for the final and plays Casemiro and an actual defender at RB.

No Perotti or Strootman for Roma tonight, both injured.

I love you Madrid fans, 3 CL finals in a row and it's 'time for some major surgery'

I think Roma have a better shot than most are giving them credit for. Liverpool's defenders crapped themselves in the first leg under just a bit of pressure and they don't really know how to control games. They only know how to play great football in one speed.

Roma will have full belief they can do it too after pulling it off against Barcelona but they're probably going to need an early goal to give them that extra push.

Not underrating Roma, they're a good side and I expect them to score but can't see it happening. Liverpool are practically guaranteed at least a goal too, which make it that much harder - they'll need 4.

Clearly I need to see this Lewa foul again... the TV hardly paid any attention at all to it last night.

He's right, though. They showed killer instinct and luck but not top football. In the long term, they won't get away with this.

They need to improve, sure. They definitely don't need major surgery.

It's just funny to see supporters thinking about changing players or manager one day after reaching a Champions League final.

Your money... but you should give your money to charity rather than bookies if you want to give money away. ;)

I do sometimes give food a local begger if Ive over cooked so my karma yoga is pretty much balanced.

:)

If it does go tits up tonight then a free week in Katowice / Krakow with cheap ale and fit birds will take the pain away a little. Not to mention a baccy run too.

I hope I lose 50 quid like Ive already said.

Madrid fans are the most spoilt fans in the world. They boo Ronaldo, ffs.

Major surgery? What? It's not like we're fighting for top 4. We need some fresh blood though after signing less and less for a couple of years.

We need someone to replace Benzema (though he did have a great night after so long, he can stay as a backup), someone who can score and assist Cristiano, and vice versa, on a more consistent basis, Dybala fits the profile, that and a RW to replace Bale, Salah is the obvious choice, though I'm not sure Pool might be up for negotiations. Though Lucas himself is decent, but we should aim for the best nonetheless.

We definitely need no midfielders or CBs, probably a better backup RB to move Nacho to CB permanently, other stuff like GK or backup LB etc. are not a priority and the current options are good enough. I don't see how 3-4 signings in total is gonna be a major surgery.

I'm surprised so many articles are going on about the referee, even in Spain. I didn't feel Cakir did favor Real strongly, yes, he could have given us a pen in one or two situations, but I think very few referees would have done so in a CL semifinal (at least without VAR to back them up).
The long and short of it is that our attackers were not able to capitalize on our enormous amount of chances / our defense gave away too many gifts in relation to the goals we were able to score.

Thought the ref did a decent job to be fair, that wasn't an easy game to ref. The game was played with a great deal of intensity and pace. Bayern lost this tie in the first leg at home, not last night.

Interesting way of showing where your allegiances lie.

In this case I think I agree a bit with Giorno, although maybe I would not choose the same players.
I think we have to buy a CB. Nacho is a good substitute but nothing more and Varane has very bad days and still a good dose of injuries along the year.
I think we should cover the right or the left backs. Achraf has to go on loan and Theo will not learn to play from overnight, or maybe he's very bad and we have to assume that was a bad signing.
I would also buy a midfielder. Modric is running out of gas and Kroos may consider that he has finished his cycle. Maybe I would think otherwise if I had more confidence in Kovacic, but he is not ready / not good enough to trust him the team.

The same happens between Casemiro and Llorente. The difference between the one that plays and the substitute is abysmal. Logically we are in the final of Champions ,which is great but we can´t throw la liga in winter again

:lol::lol:
New level of arrogance, but thanks for explaining

Not really, someone else said Madrid will have beaten the Italian, German, and French champions. I was simply saying that’s why the league is called champions league because that’s how the tournament works. It’s nothing that unique.

You guys should cheer on Liverpool. England badly need this title to reclaim some league prestige. Also, screw Madrid

8 missed matches in 8 years (from march 2009 to march 2017) is really injury prone - especially if this 16 other injuries are sometimes called "rest" or did not even let him miss any match and only 3 days training...

But actually the list in transfermarket does not list his shoulder injury from the Cup final in 2014 that was cured just in time for the World Cup.

My contention is that he is injury prone for a goalie, which is nothing but the truth. Even if he suffered from the same type of injury more than once the definition would still apply. Hargreaves struggled with the same injury over and over in his career. He was still considered injury prone because he was liable to suffer from it again even after getting a clean bill of fitness to play several times.

Are you crazy? Anyone who cheers on Liverpool in Kiev is not only not considered a United fan, he/she must be an ABU.
Why would we cheer for the scum and also against the best ever United player we've ever had in our history?
This.

Let's hope Liverpool's thirst for capitulating and conceding goals in quick succession occurs again tonight. They've managed it plenty of times this season already - twice in the previous three games actually. They were a hair's breadth away from capitulating in the first half v City at the Etihad and I'm not sure they'll withstand a similar onslaught at the vociferous Stadio Olimpico tonight. Even just for the game as a spectacle itself, an early Roma goal will be brilliant. They bossed the opening and final fifteen minutes at Anfield and Liverpool could've conceded four goals in that timeframe. Roma are monstrous in defence at home too (their home form far outweighs their away performances in Europe this season) so should they go, say, 2-0 up at any stage tonight, it'll be interesting to see Liverpool's approach and their mental strength under such intense scrutiny.
