Champions League Round of 16 (15th Feb - 16th Mar)

The nature of football assessment is funny. If PSG go out now, undoubtedly fingers would be pointed at Pochettino for failing. Managers don’t have a control pad. He is powerless from that kind of stupidity from Donnarumma.

Was going to say earlier that it will take a mistake for Real to get back into this...now it feels unless PSG kill their spirit with a goal quick, momentum will shift to Real now.

Camavinga has made a huge difference to Real Madrid's energy and tempo.

Why didn’t Donnarumma just stick it out for a corner after he realised he fecked up?

There is something really enjoyable when wannabe keeper sweepers make similar mistakes. :smirk:

Thank god for getting rid of the away goals rule
I'm always in favour of the away goals rule as it makes the whole Champions League more exciting and alluring but watching this game now and you think of it, it seems rather fair as PSG could score 1 more and the game is over. I still prefer the away goals rule though.

Messi completely disappeared on second half. Psg playing like a man down.

Why do defenders think they can 't shots from so far...it almost never works out. I suppose it's for the super rare occasions that it does...

It's the kind of things I always do in FIFA, but yeah I hate it. Ball pops out after a cross and the player it drops to just has to blast it at goal for some reason.

Verratti never loses the ball. It's really quite incredible

What Donnaruma did was just stupidity, the kind we've seen for decades and decades. It has feck all to do with being a modern keeper

Thats not entirely true. The difference is in intent. GKs of old would make this mistake, sure. But this was made because of intent. He never intended to just clear it because thats considered “poor” these days. I’ve seen ederson and allison make the exact same mistake. DDG does not do that, because he’s not “‘modern” enough.

Thats why no one will ever convince me that we need a modern keeper. Give me a shot stopper who has ok distribution any day, none of this crap.

United has a keeper exactly like what you want. If you're fine with not winning a trophy, continue to be stuck in your old fashion ways

Such calamitous errors mainly come from the progressiveness’ bandwagon brainwashing… if you just put the ball out for a corner, you cannot play high level football any more. That said, Dollarumma fecking PSG is still better than fecking Italy two weeks from now, so let be it.
