Champions League Round of 16 (13th Feb - 14th Mar)

I like Messi as much as the next man but Gary Lineker couldn't be any more of a nauseating sycophantic little bitch if he was his mother.

Retiring and being sacked isn't really the same thing though.
You could say that, but then he also "retired" the last time he was sacked by Bayern, yet was more than willing to be their manager again when they came calling. I suspect he'd love to stay on now if he had the choice, but Bayern will already have someone lined up to take over in the summer. So it'll be an involuntary retirement of sorts.

Real-Barca
Liverpool-City
Juventus-Bayern
Roma-Sevilla

That looks good to me =)

juventus would be my favourite draw. juve is a great traditional team to play against, but I like our chances to advance.

If I could pick

juve - bayern
sevilla - roma
real - city
barca - liverpool

Bayern is actually begging him to stay , so I don’t think your statement holds too much truth.

We already had PSG.We need a break.Pep against Heynckes or Barsa.
Nah, i want the pleasure of smashing baldy again. Bring on City. Sevilla-Roma QF so we play the winner in the SF . Liverpool and Bayern to go out, Juventus beat Barcelona in SF and beat them again in the final because they're juventus and we're real madrid

Please please please do not let Liverpool win :nono:

Barca were great, yes they were fortunate not to concede but they have been one of the more clinical teams and have the best defense in Europe

If that’s the best defense, I’d hate to see the worst one. If we were more clinical we could have had 3 or 4 against them.

Long shots from Willian aren't 'should have' goals. In fact, all three times you hit the post were low percentage shots, that you would not expect to score from when preparing for the game.

The most boring possible draw:
Barca vs Real
Liverpool vs City
Juventus vs Roma
Bayern vs Sevilla

I am not so brave Giorno,They are much better than the team that we beat 2 years ago.I don't see Juve beating Barsa or us.My priority would be avoiding Barsa in the final :nervous:

I hope City are drawn against Liverpool, get rid of one of them as quickly as possible. And I hope Roma and Sevilla aren't drawn against each other, because if City/Liverpool draw them in the semis they'll have a walkover to the final.

Their history doesn't really suggest that Liverpool will have a walkover against Sevilla

Maybe not a 'walkover', but Liverpool are in better form than they were at the start of the season, and Sevilla are very defensively vulnerable. I think Liverpool will overrun them if they meet again. It's certainly the best possible draw they can get aside from Roma.

Real Madrid-Liverpool
Juventus-Barcelona
Bayern-City
Roma-Sevilla

Roma v Sevilla would be absolutely brilliant just for the fact it throws up crackers in every other game. I suspect City and Madrid will draw those two. Bayern v Barca and Juve v Liverpool.

From a neutral POV I'd love to see Liverpool v Real. Would be pretty entertaining to watch.

I fancy Bayern may do it this year.

I think so too. Their squad is brilliant from back to front. Neuer (hopefully returns soon), Boateng, Hummels, Alaba, Vidal, Thiago, Martinez, Muller, Lewandowski, Robben, Ribery et al. Loaded.

I think we have one of the best benches from the topteams. barca might have a better starting 11, we have 18 players that compete for the starting 11. really looking forward to the draw.

Man city will beat Bayern by 5 goals over the 2 legs if they get them.

I wasn't that impressed with Barcelona tonight. It looked as if they switched off mentally after Messi scored the opening goal a few minutes in and didn't expect Chelsea to take it to them as much as they did. The were very poor in defence and just generally lackadaisical; they gave the ball away an incredible amount of times.

Messi, yet again, proves the difference. Having him is like having a cheat code for a computer game but that only goes so far against better quality opposition.

I think Liverpool would take Real.

3 Spanish, 2 English, 2 Italian, 1 German then. United should go smart and hire Conte as a lesser but younger, hungrier and more flexible Mourinho imho, in that keeping / rejuvenating the great majority of the current roster.

As for the QF draw, over two legs I have enough faith we can be as good as anyone, provided that we build on Wembley to raise our game further (don’t get me wrong, I can see we are overall weaker than 2015 and 2017 but still good enough and with further potential if Cuadrado or Bernardeschi come back in time).

My devilish draw reads: Real-Barca, Bayern-City, Juve-Roma, Liverpool-Sevilla. :D

I've watched enough CL draws to know Madrid, Barcelona, City and Bayern will all avoid eachother

Say what???
I think a game between us and Bayern is pretty much a coin toss.

Anyway, on the draw, I want Barca. Not because I think we're better but because feck it, its Barca and would tell if we are the real deal or not.
Team I'd least like to draw is Liverpool strangely.

I think we'd overcome Sevilla and Roma, any other game is a coin flip though I'd fancy us to take Juve if they play as they did v Spurs in the 2nd leg (but they probably won't and play 180 minutes like the first 45 of the first leg.) I'd also fancy Barca to beat us because well Messi.

I think Bayern will be in for a bit of a shock against city and I really don’t think those centre halves can cope. Kimmich is an excellent player but if sane is at the races, it’s a mismatch. Bayern are kinda in a similar boat to PSG, they’ve not really Been tested that much. I think city overwhelm them and get an early goal and then Bayern forced to chase the tie and then city to pick them off similar to the way Real Madrid did 3 years ago (maybe 4?). I don’t necessarily think the gap between the teams is 5 goals over 2 legs, it’s jusy the way i envision it playing out over two legs. If they meet in the final, different story.

I put them in three tiers

Tier 1: The favourites

City, Real and Barcelona

Tier 2: The past our prime, but we have so much f´n experience clubs accompanied by the dangerous floater.

Juve, Bayern and Liverpool

Tier 3: This year Europa League looks really tough

Sevilla and Roma

Kimmich does not even play on Sane's side.
