Champions League Quarter Finals | Chelsea vs Real (Tue) | Bayern vs City (Wed)

Expensive team/squad full of WC players who have been favorites in most CL campaigns they've won. Milan have had 1 good run and have got pummelled in their CL campaigns since 2007.

They haven't spent much on these players, i think Camavinga is the most expensive one and Hazard who flopped and isn't even playing today.

Yep its what happened last year. Though hard to imagine that repeating itself, Madrid will likely play better but will be tough.
However good City are they, they still can't quite manage these big European ties like Madrid can. I'd be quite surprised to see City go through tbh.

Why Felix? The guy could fill a cemetery with unburied chances.

I said Madrid winning was a fluke last season when they beat City but they always find a way.

Chelsea aren’t champions league standard regardless so this tie is a non-issue for Madrid or any capable team. I’d even include United in that and probs Sevilla too. Everyone would beat Chelsea

Here we go...expensive loan player, expensive wide player, and Sterling coming on at the 65th minute down 3 goals, 2nd leg. Magisterial management.

Let's hope, but I think Haaland will prove to be the difference for them in a tie like this. Just having a goalscorer to give them something different when they're struggling otherwise. Plus revenge on last season and all that... They're too good to keep failing at the end every time.

I get the impression from Frank's comments about subs changing the game that he actually planned to get to 65-70 minutes at 0-0 then throw the subs on to win the game. Which is pretty strange when a game is 90 minutes and you're 2 zip down at home.

This is the first time I watch chelsea season (bar the utd game) I find them surprisingly good, ball moves quickly and, they create chances.

Yeah they missed some big chances to kill the tie last season

"He scored that all important goal to get Madrid back into the tie"

Macca, they were winning 2-0 before that mate, what are you on about?
Well he thinks chelsea have a player called Conagar Gallagher so perhaps we should let him waffle on

First time watching them the past 5 years or something? They turn it on when needed, not on an every game basis... They're up 2 here, was never going to be pretty. It's why they aren't so great in the league but have dominated the CL.
It's a bit of a myth this these days. We had exactly 3 deep CL runs while doing badly in the league in the last 15 years, this one included

What is Ashley Cole doing there?

Was thinking the same, turns out Cashley is Franks go to ass istant coach.

I'll never understand why inept inexperienced coaches just go along with their buddies rather than looking for a few experienced or different voices to have around.
