Champions League Quarter Finals (5th - 13th Apr)

Surely one of these City forwards will recognise one of them needs to play centre forward?
This has been a recurring theme for them and it’s ultimately gonna be the reason the coudées win the lot imo.

City literally winning the ball back within seconds, this is so one sided.

Easy game for Liverpool.

A free pass to the semi-final

How anyone finds any pleasure in watching City I'll never know. At least Pep's Barca team had Messi to break up the monotony. This is just sterile possession, work the ball to the byline, square it and play the percentages. Opponent tries to counter? Foul them in their own half and get away without a yellow. Rinse and repeat for 90 minutes.

Two CL quarter finals on and the choice is either the most boring tie imaginable or Liverpool cruising into the semis. Think I'll have an early night.

What a horrible way to play athletico Madrid it’s awful simply awful to watch. Like watching your obese mother at an all you can eat buffet after smashing her 8th plate of food. It’s impressive but you certainly ain’t proud.

It's like a computer game, the shape and position of the players seems to have every loose ball or deflection land near a City player. As if Pep found an equation for it.

City pretty poor here for me, really cautious with their passing, no movement in behind and no one getting in to the box. Mahrez and Sterling completely anonymous, Ake offers no forward threat from Left Back. Think Foden could be key.

Liverpool look like adults playing against kids. They are bigger, stronger, faster. Their bench is strong and they have done this with a relatively small net spend. It shows how it can be done if the correct owners and back room staff are employed.

What is it about this winning 50/50’s? You can’t win a 50/50 it falls either way so it’s pure luck. Some teams are luckier than others.

It's a 50/50 as the ball is there to be won by either side. However, the team with the most intensity and work rate will generally get there first. I'd also be fairly sure City and Liverpool practice winning the ball in various scenarios.

I am talking about the start of his run, rewind it if you can. You'll see what I mean. You're talking about the end of the sequence when he isolated himself
Even at the beginning of the run. He actually looks around for a teammate, sees none, and that's why he decides to try go alone

Salah is so selfish, I love it

One game involves Atletico Madrid. So the other one

It's actually been a very interesting game tactics wise.

Not many teams in world football have the discipline and maturity in defense that Atletico Madrid have. They don't fall for your basic tricks. Third man, off ball runs... They don't even bother pressing in certain zones, they just jog back. As a result they are very hard to pull apart. They force you down into the abyss with them. It's no surprise they've knocked out Liverpool and United in recent years.

City's usual method of overloading one side and then switching to the other... 5 at the back keeps eyes on Mahrez and Sterling. They have been a bit clever with utilizing Cancelo in a more free role and their best openings (still half chances) have come from him orchestrating. They've dealt with the counter threat in Joao so far.

That's basically why I never watch City. You watch them once you've seen all their games

I think we should lend city Ronaldo, it's our only hope of stopping Liverpool

Pretty sure this Liverpool team blows them away.

Nah, Bayern have a chance.

Benfica is wank, Ajax should have won that tie but they couldn't score for shit.
