Champions League Quarter Finals (3rd - 11th April)

Truth hurts. City have performed way better than Madrid this year. I'm a United fan but I'm not delusional.

I don't think that matters in a cup comeptition. Even PSG in general had performed much better than Real this season. Real currently play the exact kind of football Pep's team would be vurnerable against. I think it would be an exact repeat of Pep's Bayern's demise at the hands of Real.

Watched him in training, watched him play regularly the last years, my statement stands. Your opinion may differ, of course :)

From a purely technical ability standpoint there's maybe an argument tbf. Prime Robben was something else too, though.
Can understand it — the lad can do everything with the ball, and I love him to bits personally, but still, especially as you've seen Beckenbauer, Rummenigge etc. Surprising choice, that's all.

De Brunye and Silva will have a field day. As for Ronaldo as great as he is he won't do shit without the ball. PSG? They ain't shit on City. Messi/Bayern at their best are the only ones who can stop City's top level. Best team in Europe this year overall by quite a distance.
You're basing it on league form. That goes out the window in the CL and that's why Real Madrid are consistently brilliant in it. They are full of winners and leaders and I'd fancy them to beat City in the CL.

Talk about hyperbole. It will be a tough match for Real and maybe City might win too, but it would not be a rout as you say

And that's got to do with what I said because...?

It's difficult to regard a team as being better than one which won the treble when they're 3rd in their own league. They're considerably worse than last season's Madrid side for starters.

I must say the ref in Spain has been excellent. 10/10 performance with decisions that haven't all been clear cut and easy.

Glimpses of the Ronaldo we will see when he rejoins United in 4-5 years.

Full time in Sevilla. Good result for us after a bad first 35 minutes.

The semi final will be Madrid-City and Barca-Bayern most probably. If they avoided each other it can be a Classico final finally this season.

If City do get past Pool, I really hope they get Real.

For the record, as a City fan I would prefer to face Real more than anyone else. Simply because reguardless of who we will likely face (assume we don't bottle it against the Scouse), it is going to be a hard task reguardless and since I have a stronger dislike for Real than Barca or Bayern I would prefer to knock them (slightly) out over the other 2 teams.

I'm calling it; this Madrid team is better than Pep's Barca.

There are a lot of reasons why I would disagree with that (weaker domestic record, the fact the have not won a Treble under Ronaldo, the fact they have only won 1 European Double etc.). I would say though that they do come a reletively close second...

Italian team bottling 4/5 clear cut chances to lose 0-3 at home, that's a new one for me.

If we win 4 of the last 5 CL's they should slowly start to think about changing this competition's name. :p
