Champions League Quarter Finals (3rd - 11th April)

FFS, even after Juventus continue to dominate Italian Football (What with a 7th League Title and a 4th League-Cup Double in a row likely) they still end up bottling it against the El Classico dulpoly yet again. Seriously what is it going to take for them to actually win a CL for them?

Still fair play to Ronaldo and the form he has shown in this game (and the last few months), reminding everyone (even this City fan) why his sale to Real Madrid was nothing short of a disaster for anyone who is not a Madridista (1). Because it is largely thanks to him that despite the car crash that has been their domestic campaign, their are looking increasingly likely (though still far from certain) to win the CL yet again...

(1) That is why any transfer of both Hazard and/or Kane and/or Salah to Real must be avoided by all costs (I'm looking at you Pep/Txiki).

De Brunye and Silva will have a field day. As for Ronaldo as great as he is he won't do shit without the ball. PSG? They ain't shit on City. Messi/Bayern at their best are the only ones who can stop City's top level. Best team in Europe this year overall by quite a distance.
He just needs one touch and that's it. Open your eyes, this Madrid team doesn't need the ball and City are inexperienced at this level.

Not really, it's who they play that makes it look this way.
So many mistakes at the back and hardly creating either. Yeah Madrid are good but Juve have been extremely poor for a team playing at home in a QF. They got lucky vs Spurs.

Truth hurts. City have performed way better than Madrid this year. I'm a United fan but I'm not delusional.
What truth, that City will have a field day against a team which is ruthless as it comes in CL?

Fecking Juve imploding again in the 2nd half just like the CL final.

City Vs Madrid will be cracking for so many reasons . Anyone's guess how it would turn out.

We'll see, entirely possible of course but IMO City will cut them to shreds a lot more than Real do to them.

Yeah that's fair because Real's defence is awful too. Would be a cracking tie.

Did I just hear Juve fans doing monkey sounds to Marcelo?

Anyone get kind of like monkey chants on your TV's screens a couple of seconds ago when Marcelo was running out of play or was it just me?

City have without a doubt performed better domestically than Real Madrid. The problem is however that despite our performance in the EPL, we have to compete on 2 difficult fronts (PL + CL) while Real only have to compete in the CL, all the while not having the strength in depth to deal with this issue.

Whereas I agree that City are a better team than PSG and even Real and Barcelona this season, I think you are underestimating how much experience and more importantly individual quality can decide a one off game. In both those departments City are significantly lower than the Spanish two.

Not a lot of excitement in the majority of 2nd legs this year so far. Big teams performing as expected but also perhaps a bit favorable draws for many of them.

The semi final will be Madrid-City and Barca-Bayern most probably. If they avoided each other it can be a Classico final finally this season.

Meanwhile Gareth Bale is stuck sitting on the bench

Juve's defending has been atrocious tonight. It's hard enough against Ronaldo without gifting it to him.

My god Barzagli, he bet on Real winning the UCL or something? What a shocking game

See how Real Madrid's fullbacks alway on flanks in opponents area waiting for to receive balls while inside forward roaming everywhere. This is what I want from our fullbacks.

What about El Classico?
3rd highest all time goalscorer in them... one behind Alfredo Di Stefano, and then the greatest player ever at the top (who was in the league for 5 seasons before Ronaldo joined). I'd say he's done alright.

You will never get that with our current manager. I hope the ref is merciful and gives 0 added minutes

The quality of the passing is something else. It’s *always* directly to a player, or better get a few yards in front of the direction they want to move.
