Champions League Quarter Finals (3rd - 11th April)

It would be just like Woodward's Man Utd to splurge £80m and £500k p/w on someone like him.
It'd be down to Jose anyway, not Woody. If Jose's watching this, he'd be better off going for Mahrez.

He signed Sanchez anyway so the Bale thing is over IMO

By the way? How its a dive, when both hands are on the chest of Ronaldo?

It's never enough for a pen, but for me the definition of a dive is, to fall to the ground without contact.
You saying the hands on his chest made him fall over?

The definition of a dive is to throw yourself to the ground in the hopes of deceiving the match officials. That’s exactly what he did.

I haven't been very impressed with Madrid under Zidane. They have won a lot of trophies but I feel they rely on individuals rather than playing as a team.
Modric, Kroos, Marcelo and almost always Ronaldo.
Their play mostly involves crossing from the flanks and breaking with speed and power.
You play good strong CBs who are dominant in the air, they loose one of their major strengths.

I don't care about "who can beat Liverpool" or whatever. I'd much rather see Sevilla and Juventus to progress to the semis than Bayern and Ronaldo Madrid.

Also, I like Douglas Costa. Right wing and all...

On a Utd forum, that's tantamount to heresy

Exactly ! People on here are far too obsessed. I was absolutely rooting for Roma yesterday, and absolutely rooting for Juve and Sevilla today.

I can’t possibly be the only one bored of the “Real Barca Bayern plus one guest” show that the champions has been over the last few years. I would be overjoyed for some different teams to have at it.

Real were probably so busy laughing their asses off at Barca that they failed to draw any lessons from that match. Now they're spending half-time changing their shorts.

Wtf? Just checked the score.

Real out would be hilarious, but then I remembered that Liverpool is in the semi-final. So, just no, feck that.

Yes but not as big as roma overturning barca

At least Roma were at home though, that's a major difference here.

I could see Roma winning the game yesterday for example, even if I couldn't see 3-0. I couldn't really have said that Juve would win at the bernabau though.

Still, obviously 45 minutes left.

Ramos is the 2nd most important player in Madrid after Ronaldo. Without him there's no defence.

Conviced the people asking for Bale haven't watched him in a long time and think we would be signing the same player that was at Spurs.

No intimidation either. Mandzukic would wipe out varane, carvajal, A.C. Slater and Marcelo on his own.

You saying the hands on his chest made him fall over?

No of course not.

But how often there is a slight contact and every players falls to the ground and then a foul is whistled?
So it's every time a dive then?

No real great team in this competition. Anyone of these teams left in the competition can win it. This was our chance to win it and we effed it.

Did the contact make him go down or did he make the conscious decision to go down? There's your answer.

I swear if we go out, Modric should be allowed to kick everyone else in the nuts. HARD

Conviced the people asking for Bale haven't watched him in a long time and think we would be signing the same player that was at Spurs.

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that he'd likely be the worst transfer mistake in our club's history.

He's done at the highest level IMO.

It'll be great for Italian football to have two teams in the semis. It's all we have to look forward to this summer, since the whole WC play off fiasco. Having said that, I highly doubt Madrid won't score at least once at home.

Anyone remaining can beat Liverpool. But to watch Real Madrid yet again win the Champions League is pretty shit. I would actually love to see Juve win it but they'd first need to carry on that Mandzukic-miracle tonight.

I was still in the "who can beat Liverpool" mode yesterday. Then I started to enjoy the Real-Juve game and remembered the CL can be fun.

Matuidi has dominated Modric in midfield so far.

He's awful with the ball at his feet but his work rate and grit has been key tonight so far. Last week he and Kroos had it way too easy.

Silva long term replacement likely. He will be lethal in EPL.
How many Silva replacements do they need?
Didn't they buy Bernardo to be Silva replacement?
Also didn't City categorically rule out signing Isco?
When I mentioned about Isco, people said he was a ball hogger who doesn't know when to release the ball.

I’m not sure how much people have been watching of bale, but let it be clear that there is two versions of him. One with ronaldo, one without. When he is on the field and ronaldo isn’t, he looks amazing every time. He just cannot play in the same side as him and it makes no sense, not like ronaldo gets in his way.

Not this again. Even if Real goes out now, Juventus and Bayern are pretty much great teams to fear. Juventus didn't make 2 finals last few seasons when they're pushover nor Heynckes's CL record is due to pure luck.

Well you've just answered your own question. You say the contact isn't enough for him to go to the ground yet he ends up on the ground. 2+2=

I think Juventus and Real Madrid are great teams. After all they were last seasons final, Juventus were also in 2015 final and Real have won it 3 of the last 4.

Ffs...

Thats doing him a bit of a disservice I think. I don't want him to come here because of his injury record. He does have a few games where he doesn't do a lot, but often in these games he comes up with a crucial moment. More often than not his performances are good for Madrid.
