THREATS
Barcelona: Current title holders, midst of 38 match unbeaten streak across all competitions and beginning to hit their stride as they are already in finals of Copa Del Rey and the Primera title a virtual guarantee. MSN, not much more to say

Bayern Munich: Maybe the most feared rival will be Bayern Munich. They have a great squad, play good football under Josep Guardiola and will want revenge for last season's semi-final defeat to Luis Enrique's men. They produced a stunning comeback to beat Juventus to reach this stage, edging the Italians out in extra-time after a thrilling tie. They lead the Bundesliga and are in the semi-finals of the German Cup. They're still chasing the treble.

Real Madrid: Even though Zinedine Zidane's side aren't having their best season, they remain a threat. They raced through a group which featured Paris Saint-Germain and were too good for Roma in the last 16. This is their only hope of a trophy, too, as they're a long way back in the league and out of the Copa del Rey.

COMPLICATED

PSG: The French side have already won Ligue 1, racing to the title with 77 points after 30 games, 25 more than their nearest rival, Monaco. They are also in the semi-finals of the French Cup and are also after a treble. They came second to Real Madrid in the group stage and knocked out Chelsea in the last 16. They will be a difficult tie for anyone.

Manchester City: Similar to PSG, they are looking to take a step further forward in Europe after reaching the last eight for the first time. Guardiola will take them over next season, but for now Manuel Pellegrini is in charge. They have already won the League Cup, but have been knocked out of the FA Cup and are struggling in the title race. They impressed in their group, topping Juventus, and beat Dynamo Kyiv this week to make the quarter-finals.

Atletico Madrid: Diego Simeone's side kept their Champions League hopes alive with a penalty shootout win over PSV Eindhoven.

WINNABLE

Wolfsburg: Most teams would be happy to draw the Bundesliga side, given the other alternatives. They got the better of Manchester United in the group stages, though, and had too much for Belgian side Gent in the last 16. They will be the team most sides are looking for in Friday's draw, though.

Wolfsburgo.jpg

Benfica: Last on the list, although that does not mean they are the weakest. They came second in Atletico's group and got the better of Zenit in the last 16. They've grown as the season has progressed and are top of the Portuguese league. However, they will be viewed as one of the 'kinder' draws by most of the sides.

The first leg of the quarter-finals will be played on 5 and 6 April, with the returns on 12 and 13.

Madrid to knock City out.

Would love for one of Atletcio, PSG, Wolfsburg or Benfica to win it.

Kind of want a Bayern vs. Barca final to best teams in the world playing for the biggest prize. However the romantic in me wants an underdog to win it, particularly Atletico.

I'll start the usual festivities on here in advance: "ffs, wtf is this shit. Feck the fecking of and get to the draw already."

Hopefully we don't see any tie between clubs from the same association.

Who has the best chance of knocking out Barca - Atletico, maybe? Enrique has a pretty great record against them though.

Wolfsburg at home first - against Real Madrid. Ricardo Rodriguez can put his signature under his contract at half time.

Wolfsburg - Real is an absolute shocker! Came out of nowhere, that..

They did well for a while but Barcelona have been tanking them lately. Let's see how this one goes...

Oh well, that's boring. But I'll take it.

So,

Barca
Real
PSG
Bayern

in the semis then. Should be good.

Rummenigge's wish was UEFA's command.

Seriously one of the most boring draw results. At least the moneyball clubs will meet each other early. 2 games are seemingly non contests, Barcelona vs Atletico is nothing new, and there's little tradition behind PSG - City.

They have an awful record against Barca since Enrique took over if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, but they don't lose by more than one goal all the time do they? Real Madrid would get smashed over two games with their defense, and Bayern's defense isn't that great atm. either.

Real Madrid - Wolfsburg : easy for Madrid
Bayern-Benfica: easy for Bayern
Barcelona - A Madrid : tough battle but already seen so many times

PSG-City is clearly the most interesting confrontation: UAE against Qatar

Ugh, that was shit. EL ties would probably be more interesting. When is that draw?

No games between Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern: strange :wenger:

Very bland draw really. The City game should be good though, PSG should be favourites but not by much. Barcelona and Atlético is the same. I think we at least now that the second leg will still be alive as I can't see this Atlético side losing by a big margin to anyone.
