Champions League Knockouts (12 Aug - 23rd Aug)

Yeah. I don’t watch either team and certainly not Leipzig, though have heard so much about them on here and how Nagelssman is the second coming.

But so far, they look abit star struck or out of their depth; quality difference between the teams is highly visible. Am certainly not noticing all the ‘highly coached’ and ‘patterns of play’ blah that so many go on about. They look pretty rudimentary
well their players are worse than PSG's are.

That gap in class is astonishing for a semi final

Not when you realise PSG wage bill is €250m higher than Liepzig. Total miss match.

Shame Atletico bottled it as would have been much better game.

That Neymar touch is one of the best assists I've ever seen. It's one thing to have the skill to do that but for it to be your instinctive reaction when the ball comes at you with speed and you have no time to think, that's just outrageous. Such a shame he has been hiding in France for so many years, he's a spectacular player to watch.

Would like to see Mbappe and Neymar pepper the goalkeeper with shots on target

PSG playing very well tonight. Disciplined but still creative.

It looks like a PSG vs Toulouse. I don't really get it.

Feels like it's headed that way for the second half. Unless RB changes drastically, it's not going to end with just 2 goals conceded for them.

Well for a start, RBL hasn't started the game at all or PSG has been so good that RBL hasn't been able to do a thing.

Verrati yet to join this team - feck !

Same applies to us as well but this total insistence on playing out from the back even in the matches where it's clearly not working or opponent is very good at pressing from the front is so damn stupid.

The fact that Leipzig is in CL semi final is an absolute miracle. It can't be used against Negelssman in anyway. He's a great manager in the making.

Hate that AdM never worked out here. He’s absolutely brilliant.

To be fair to Leipzig, they have no Werner anymore. This isn't the best XI they've played with throughout the season.

It better be, I've got money on it. They need 2+ shots on target each

I don’t understand why coaches insist that it is mandatory, and if you don’t do it, he’ll fine you. It’s insane

You know, a bad game by a team doesn't mean they're overrated and their manager is shit. They could just be having a bad game.

PSG are better without Verratti and his Jorginho like effect on the team.

A combination of him not wanting to be here and LVG failing to manage him well. He also seems to hate the city in general. It can't be helped. He's a snake though.

He has some kind of agenda against him because people have the audacity to call him a better manager than Ole who couldn't get us in a EL final with a team 10 times as expensive.

Hope RB can maintain abit of respect in the second half.

But yea, it seems switching back lines hasn't helped Nagelsmann. Also, I don't get why he is suddenly playing Poulsen up top instead of Schiek who was much better this season.

He is jaw dropping to watch at times. What a shame as you say.

to be fair he got robbed and his wife never settled.

The gulf in individual quality is immense. Could anyone outside of Upamecani make the PSG first XI?
Upamecano is very good but tonight he’s having a poor performance imo. They find space too easy behind him and created two big chances that way. Most disappointing was to see when he didn’t care to run back at the PSG counter and Neymar got a great chance.

A bit like Lukaku — after a while neither wanted to be here. It’s a shame, I agree. He’s a fantastic player.

Screams of managerial naivety or ego, in any case it's not desired. Being a bit pragmatic when situation requires it should be admirable in coaches at the top end. You can't always win nice, that self-awareness is crucial.

PSG have exploited Leipzig's key weakness at building up from the back: Gulasci. Other Bundesliga teams that have caused Leipzig problems have often targeted his struggles with passing out of the back (even though he himself is not terrible on the ball).

Besides that, however, they've still been able to build up from the back, but Kampl has been surprisingly sloppy with his passing so far. Maybe he can get better in the second half, but for now, he's been poor.

In the making maybe but not ready for a big gig yet

I wish I bet on the prediction I made at the start of the season that there would be a new winner of the PL and the CL.

PSG look ominously comfortable. Neymar genuinely should have scored 6 goals in the last two matches. He's an absolute threat-machine when fit.

Look a match too far for RBL.

They aren't. It's one of the rare time when Paredes and Herrera haven't been pointless which points to Leipzig more than anything else.

Yes, Olmo, Laimer and Kampl would as well tonight, they're better than Herrera, Marquinhos(in midfield) and Paredes. If Verratti comes back for the final PSG could beat bayern

Otherwise, even with those forwards it's going to be an uphill battle. Neymar and Di Maria would have to drop very deep to help their build up against bayern's press

ligue 1 should be incredibly boring to watch for neutrals. If PSG is involved, then it should basically be a write off, right?
