Champions League Knockouts (12 Aug - 23rd Aug)

I wonder if McManaman is feeling disappointed and frustrated.... hard to tell.

You know, I'm starting to think all the discussions about how much City were going to enjoy playing against Bayern's backline seem a tad premature now...
Ha ha arrogant cnuts. Pep, flying under the flag of a minted bunch if hypocrites can get you a long way, but you will be found out. Get in, get fecking in. Salty tears - what a great evening’s watching

City need some forwards. They've got nowt up there. Rodri and Gundogan, LARF. This game is pointless anyway. Bayern are going to rip a new arse outta any of these lot. That new City kit is god awful.

Yeah it's been quite clear in these champions league games - Atalanta were broken against PSG.
Worth it for tonight though

Made a mockery of the competition. But, who gives a feck I guess, been funny watching City tonight and Barca get slaughtered yesterday. But perspective needed.

Except Lyon didn't even look this good against Juventus. A cinderella run doesn't mean they were aamzing, they had a good tourney. 7th in the french league is nothing to write home about. But they look way better today than they did vs Juventus. Juve could've won that tie for sure, they weren't played off the pitch like you make it sound.
I am not saying they were played off the pitch but I am saying over the two legs they were the superior team and collectively the way they play is much better then Juve.

There midfield is one sector of the pitch where IMO they are stronger than Juve in.

It doesnt but a dummy has been used forever to interfere with play whilst not touching the ball. The person dummying the ball will always factor into a play like that. Fecking hilarious mind.
Only if there’s a player to trick. In this context he was just getting out of the way of the ball. The rule has been this way for ages. The end result is exactly the same as him not being there.

Is the French league going to get randomly overrated because of this? Lyon aren't great... bonkers to truly suggest so. They've raised their game.
Pretty much. It is a one-off match where this can happen. Even with the stupid decisions from Guardiola, they should have been 2-2 if it wasn't for a stupid miss.

Premier League is a true farmers league. Lyon completely outclassed City.

 Laughing at the people who thought I was crazy for saying Lyon are a better team than Juve this season. This game proves that point for me yet again.

Y'all are looking at team names rather then how both sides have actually performed and played this season Juve have some better individual players but when you see how the team collectively plays its piss poor. Yes Juve won their league title but if not for many fortunate circumstances they could have fairly easily ended in 4th this season as all of Inter, Lazio, and Atalanta were superior teams. I hope Juve make many changes next season or they are fecked.

Lyon play good effective football and their midfield was/is far superior to Juve's. Not even to mention there interchanging attacking play with there front line.

Very exciting young talents to look out for in this Lyon team. They are very dangerous on the break and play a very good pressing game and there defense is very solid.

@Daysleeper you are one of the people who tried to go against my point
I felt people don't actually watch games, but going by scoreline and name (hype).

The shaming game on Ronaldo was silly after Juventus got eliminated by Lyon. Sarri got sacked promptly, and all some people got is to blame player(s) who bailed Juventus all season. Anyone who watched games, and have some decency to be honest know, Juventus was going backwards as a team under Sarri. The number one issue this season.
