Champions League 24/25 | Matchday 6: December 10-11

Feck me, that City downfall is so enjoyable.
Even Ole or Ten Hag didn’t have such bad runs of games

City really are going to hammer us aren't they  :(

We might be the easiest team to play through in the history of football currently. Midfield with zero interest in tracking back.

No, not entirely. Not having Rodri doesn't explain why they're losing almost all their games. In other words, Rodri missing isn't the reason they're playing relegation form. Rodri is the reason why they beat Arsenal to the title. Which brings me to the point. The biggest issue is that psychology is football is king. City are playing the exact same football, same movements, same shifts of play, same everything, but mentally when you're not there, it can undo every tactical advantage that you have.

They are mentally and psychologically shot.
Totally agreed!
People to underestimate the impact that confidence, or lack thereof, can have on a teams playing abilities.

We can see it quite clearly with United. Players change, coaches change, but on the pitch it’s pretty Much the same. A mix of lack of quality at the highest level and absolute lack of confidence

Depending on which version of us turns up. Even in the current state, I think we still could beat them handily if we add some intensity and speed into our play. Otherwise, yeah, we’ll be their 2nd win in 9 or 10 or something.

Do the teams who lose in the play off drop into the Europa League or just crash out of Europe altogether?

Silva trying to act the hardman to two blokes twice his size

Fecking moronic stuff from Gittens and Barca scored of the break. Brilliantly casual pass from Lamal and Torres finishes.

So frustrating, doing so well to get back into the game and give it away with stupid errors.

City really are on their knees currently. Every game seems to be hard work.

Assuming this all stays the same, Liverpool, Arsenal and Villa will be in the top five of the table.

Pep Guardiola, Noel Gallagher, Liam Gallagher, Curly Watts, can you here me? Curly Watts, your boys took a hell of a beating

I am still sure that this is a squad that has given up.

Tehy don't care, you can see it. We know what a team not really trying looks like, and it looks like that team there.

My guess? They've been told what the club expects from the charges, and they see no point in busting a gut this season.

Whilst I expect them to give us a hiding at the weekend, it would be feckin beautiful to put in a solid performance and walk away from their shitty little council house with all 3 points... and watch their bitter, self-entitled fans leaving 10 mins before the end, totally bewildered.

Another great chance missed by Dortmund right at the end! Schlotterbeck with a clear header from a free kick. Landed horribly though, completely twisted his ankle :worry:

He's being stretched off, if he has a long term injury then Dortmund don't have any fit central defenders till next year!

Yep good point.

Dortmund-Barca was a great watch. Barca showing the same qualities and the same flaws in every game. That offside attempt by Cubarsi on BVB's second goal was ridiculous. You're not even a defender at this point.

Yamal was having a poor game until his assist. I also notice he isn't scoring much so far, only 6 goals in a team that has scored over 70 isn't great. Raphinha already has 17.
