Champions League — quarter-finals and semi-finals draw

Did they change the rule recently? The rule did say that if it is a goalscoring chance and a penalty, only yellow is given, but red card if it’s a freekick. It was something about double punishment or something.

If there's no intent to play the ball it's a red in the box. Been like that since the start of that rule change.

Hate that this is part of the sport. It tarnishes football so much. It's technically a foul, and since he's the last man, that technically makes it a red card; but he barely touches him and the PSG player just flings himself to the ground. The fact that this can very likely determine the tie and cost Barcelona tens of millions of euros is just a farce. It's such a blemish on the game.
Agreed. In that situation the officials need to look at the actual incident rather than just following the rule book.

Dembele got his ego hurt, you can tell

Dembele is the quintessential example of just does too much every single time.

Dembele is the quintessential example of just doing the right thing at the right time.

DOGSO in the box is a yellow if they made a genuine attempt to play the ball. I'm not sure he did that.

I realize TerStegen does have a reputation as a passing GK but not near as much as Onana while I actually think he is actually better.
Ter Stegen has as much of a reputation as a passing gk than Onana. He's just untouchable so nobody's linking him to a move away, so people don't talk about him as much in UK
Nahh, are you sure about that?
Yep. Not a an attempt on the ball

"Double punishment rule" applies only in situations when defender wanted to play the ball. If it is intentional foul (without defender being close to get a ball) then it is both red and a penalty.

Brilliant finish from Maatsan. That was a lovely goal, well worked.

It's unbelievable that Araujo didn't just let Barcola through. There's no way the guy would score anyway.

So we are heading for a Dortmund vs PSG semi and PSG final

That's probably it. I only look at English language media.

Frenkie De Jong must be unbelievable in the games I don't watch, but I don't think I have ever seen him play an exceptional match.

Even if he scores it's still 1-1 at home in front of your fans with over 1hr to play

Stupid move
