Champions League — quarter-finals and semi-finals draw

I get that, but how many times do keepers fumble the ball, only not to be taken advantage of by a proper poacher. I said before that I believe Vini and Rodrygo dont get onto the end of that, simply because they're not really poachers like Joselu is.
Yeah I think we are saying the same thing just different parts of it. If neuer fumbles and no one there it gets a few  Emojis and nothing else. But the major event is the fumble because it is so substandard and unacceptable. Whether or not Joselu follows up that was pathetic (from a keeper who kept them in it at 0-0)

Yea you have to credit Joselu for that. Dier was right besides him when the shot came in but only he was anticipating Neuer spilling it while Dier thought it would be an easy save. If Dier had the same anticipation for the mistake as Joselu then Joselu wouldn't have gotten to the ball first. But then again, Dier was playing the whole 90 minutes and would have been much more tired than Joselu so didn't think he needed to spend more energy chasing a ball that would likely be saved.
Dier also isn’t in a position of desperation as the first shot comes in either, his team are 1-0 up

A Tchouameni Enzo swap would be great for both sides, don’t think Tchouameni will prove good enough for Madrid but he’d be great in the Prem

Enzo is not worth the 80 million we paid for Tchouameni. Tchouameni has great physical exuberance but I don't think he knows how to use it in his game.

From the post match interviews:

deligt said the ref instantly apologized for the immediate offside call. Clear mistake.

Tuchel made a statement about the subs that implied that the 4 offensive subs were due to them asking for substitution.

In the end end deserved win from Madrid. Congratulations for making it to the finals. We will come back next year.

Last year thought Inter probably wouldn't be able to beat City and that was the case, despite good chances. This year I think it's even smaller chances for Dortmund to beat Real Madrid, given Madrid players' experience in this kind of games and all the CL trophies won just over last 10 years or so. Dortmund winning would definitely be a big surprise.

I liked him for most of the game but at some point he has to start handing out yellows for the tactical fouls. And the last mistake will probably get him out of CL/EL games for a while. The ref from Arsenal-Bayern hasn‘t featured in CL/EL since his „kid‘s mistake“ performance.

This referee should have been put on the shelf or demoted months ago. He had already made a blatant mistake with huge consequences when he allowed a bogus penalty to PSG against Newcastle at 90+6.

He gave a pen for a handball in a situation where the ball touched the defender's torso then the hand, which is not a penalty according to the rule. Unless they have changed it yet again. And he checked it on the VAR screen himself.

Newcastle was up 1-0 and with the win they were through and PSG out at 95%. PSG was at home and there had already been a few potential penalty situations for PSG in the second half. The tension was high. When the last situation came, he just crumbled under pressure.

I was very put-off by Tuchel substitutions and then Neuer mistake happened, just closed the tv. Anyway, we played like a small team the whole game. Grats to Real

We need to applaud the away goal rule that was changed, this is the first UCL in years were I was watching with more attention the games, especially the knockout phase, very entertaining stuff.

Yeah it was very obvious it wasn't. Such a silly rule to not allow the review on that. Brutal way to go out really.
Yeah it’s pretty horrific officiating but Madrid had stopped playing way before De Ligt shot into the net. There’s no guarantee that attacks results in a goal.

Vinicius Jnr is a Cnut and insecure as a person. He overcompensate for his insecurities by being a Cnut and picking a fight when he can just avoid it.
That is my perception of him and I do this shit for a living. FYI I am not condoning or excusing some of the shit he has endured but he is a cnut

This is insane. I’ve never seen him do anything except compete hard. As for “insecurities” this has a horrible stench to it, as if playing down, while simultaneously projecting your view on, the sickening racist abuse he has suffered in Spain. Like you’ve taken some context and prejudged him for it. It’s a total 100% disagree from me, he plays hard and fair.

You do what exactly for a living  ?

With hindsight Tuchel isn't the one to blame for. All 4 players (Kane, Sané, Musiala and Gnabry) got injuries and couldn't carry on.
Why he brought Kim instead of Goretzka, I don't know but Kim wasn't at fault for the equalizer.
The blame here Neuer has to take. It was the decisive moment of the match, as Bayern didn't have players to come back.

Even if they might have had injuries, Tuchel is in part to blame for his poor rotation over the weekend.

Why play Kane in a meaningless game a few days before this important match?

Madrid rested their whole team, as did all other CL semi-finalists, but Tuchel decided to rest only half.

Vinícius is definitely a cnut. All the time looking for unnecessary fights, shouting in the other player's face and pushing; even when he's on other side of the field or on the bench he chases the trouble. He had a lot of problems with other players and fans here too. When it looked like he was going to flop in Europe, many people in Brazil were joking about it and hoping that he'd be kicked from Real Madrid. He only started to get more sympathy here after those episodes of racism. His temperament is even worse than Neymar's. If his ascension wasn't followed by those incidents, he'd be equally hated.

well the priority is a Kroos replacement, which will be worth than 80m to them. Don’t think Madrid need what Tchouameni offers whereas Enzo is made for Spain

There's a fundamental misunderstanding of Tchouameni. He's more Kroos than Casemiro. He is exactly the player we'd need, in theory. He's just not good enough

What age are you by the way? And do you play sports?

Your reaction times start to decrease from your 20s onwards. I noticed a decline in reaction times in my late 30s. It's definitely more pronounced now that I'm 45 but it was noticeable at Neuer's age.
Well, I'm 37 but my body is about 58

My reaction times are fine, wouldn't say they're slower than when I was 27 it's just my body moves in slow motion.

I know this feeling all too well. My eyes and my brain can pickup any movement and make the right decision with the same speed that Schmeichel could mid 90’s. Alas the rest of my body gets the command signals much, much later.

Like, I find driving my reaction times are better and what do when I react, that's where experience comes in to compensate for a slowing of reaction.

So the CL final will be Real vs Dortmund. Who have Joselu and Füllkrug as their strikers (who both decided the semifinals). Two strikers who played for Hannover. Unbelievable that they made it to that level, would never have expected that while they played for my club.

Full on Drogba it's a disgrace.

Got to say, I didn't mind seeing Bayern come unstuck as they definitely milked the cramps towards the end to waste time, and the negative subs. Infuriating when a player writhes around so much with 'cramp' that it still gets the game stopped like Pavlovic did. And replacing Kane with Choupo-Moting was just asking for trouble!

But then did feel for them about the rushed officiating at the end. No guarantee it was a goal if Real Madrid fully played on, but a really frustrating what if moment just as a neutral, let alone being a Bayern fan.

The level has gone down in the last few years. Nothing special about Dortmund or even this Real side. Inter were the same last year as well, even though City still nearly bottled the game.

Offside or no, De Ligt would probably not have scored if Madrid wouldn't have stopped playing.

Madrid's luck just never stops though. Has Neuer ever done that at such a moment

The amount of goalkeeping errors that Real Madrid have gone through from over the years is insane.

Donnarumma, Ulreich, Karius, now Neuer. Maybe a few more. Didn’t think Ederson was great for the first goal of that City comeback, without it being a howler.

to add gossip about Joselu, the hero of the night. He is Carvajal's brother-in-law! Their wives are very similar. Similar level of confusion after a couple of drinks.
I can imagine Daphne saying "Daniel, tell the president to sign Joselu" , "Honey, he plays in the second division...".

Joselu has made good use of his minutes. He came in as a substitute for Mariano, in the role of an academy player who knows he's going to be a substitute, assuming his place, to create a good atmosphere. He is a tank striker for these moments.

I saw something the other day saying if he wins this one, then only Real Madrid itself will have more UCL titles than him.
If Don Carlo wins this year, it will be his 5th CL title. Leaving Real out of equation, Milan is on 7 trophies, Bayern and Pool on 6, Barcelona on 5. So he would match Barca's 120 years tally
If we count "UEFA Champions League" only, so since the revamp, new rules and new name in 92/93, Ancelotti is already more successful than any other team bar Madrid. He's on 4 titles at the moment, with Barca, Bayern and Milan with 3 titles.

That's mental. Also applies to some players. Toni Kroos could win his 6th CL title. Even more crazy about him: He has won the FIFA Club World Cup in its current format six times, which makes him the record winner of that competition ahead of any club (Real won it five times, he was there for each of those wins and has another with Bayern).

I'm at peace with Kroos being remembered as the guy that won the most of all that is relevant. I remember there was a talk and stats about Dani Alves having an unreal trophy haul, but numerous CLs + World Cup for Kroos win surely count more than French titles and 2 Copa Americas. Marvellous player and he was instrumental in all the wins his teams managed.
