Chain Draft (Main Thread)

Another rule clarification.

Suppose I picked Gaalinho then picked Phealinho using Utd as the link, could I then pick Kiddinho also using the Utd link providing Gaalinho played for Utd at a different time for Utd and never played with Kiddinho anywhere? Assuming of course Phealinho and Kiddinho played together at Utd

I think the answer is yes, the pick is valid
 
@Edgar Allan Pillow for reinforcement round, if let say between Pick 8 and Pick 12, I choose Pick 10 to branch out. Does the reinforcement tie to Pick 9?

E.g. Pick 8 - Pick 9 - Pick 10 -> Reinforcement #1
Is it allowed for reinforcement #1 to have played with Pick 9?

Not sure what branching out is. If what you mean is: If I use Pick 10 for the reinforcement, does he need NOT to have played with #9 I understand the answer is no.

From what I gather the only requirement is that reinforcements are linked to any one of the last five picked.

Mmmm... That's an interesting concept: a chain draft where you don't thread your chain but one that runs along with the snake/draft order. That could be fun, but you'd probably need to make it an 8-manager one. Aw, bollocks, it would take ages anyway with each researching for hours before each pick... Screw it.

I would, sounds like a lot of fun and there would be zero point in planning, just acting on the dish you've been served (which is also the problem, it could get glacial if people overegg it).


It's not one to make friends in, definitely.

In the meantime, I'll have to pick next without knowing exactly how they plan to play it out. Could be a major clusterfeck.

They can be the most fun. The manager draft was good for that. Remember spending most of my time trying to exhaust certain positions to try and feck over the poor bugger (@harms I think) who had the same gaffer's pool. Still annoyed that cnut @Cutch took Stam in the Prem though, a decision probably based on 90% shafting me and 10% on improving his team. The auction drafts are also good for it if a lot less subtle.

:lol: I remember thinking you hadn't done too badly getting Vidic instead. Never underestimate a single bad game.

That was one of EAPs first drafts. I remember telling him to avoid competing with Stobz for the best players, or getting the best alternative to each best player, but instead picking strategically to make sure he had no chance of surviving the first game, then at reinforcement they would all come to pappa and strengthen him in his weaker roles. Poor Stobz didn't know what hit him, his defence was the opposite of what you would expect with a Milan side.
