Casemiro | United Player

Again going for 31 year old with no resell value. This club will never learn.

To be fair United and all the clubs at the top of the wealth table do not care about resale value. The only thing that matters here is whether the player is a difference maker.

Resale value! We have McFred starting in midfield week in week out for us. We need first 11 quality now.

Is it just me, or are the Glazers very clearly just throwing names out there to appease fans without actually having to do anything?

Casemiro? Felix? These things are clearly not happening but at least they can say that they tried right?

The caf is full of moaning cnuts so why shouldn’t they be able to complain? That’s what this place is for

Or maybe there's just people who watch lots of game and are not willing to just stick to the only argument you seem to have to dismiss pretty much any dissenting opinion, meaning "you don't want the best DM in the world??? You're a moaning cnut!".

I watch pretty much every Real Madrid game, and Casemiro did struggle a lot when the team wasn't clicking under Zidane or at the beginning of Carlo's come back. It was bad, and when I mean bad, I mean "can barely do a decent control" bad. If you don't believe me, go watch the games against Valencia or Villareal at the beginning of the 21/22 season when Carlo had to take him out because he truely was terrible.

So please allow some of us here to have doubts that he'll fit right in and do his "best DM in the world" thing when he shows up in a disfunctionnal team in a different league after a decade playing with 2 of the very best midfielders of the decade in a well oiled machine.

You seem very invested in the deal considering you’re a PSG fan.

Odd.

I'm not "invested", I don't care where he goes. I'm just someone who watches a lot of football and think there's some people here who would like to go a bit beyond the "stop moaning, he's the best DM in the world!!" argument to forge an opinion.

We could have Mbappé on a 10-year contract without fetching more than a set of training kits and a one-way ticket to Magaluf, so resale value means feck all to our club.

He’s still 30. You guys love adding on a year to a player’s age don’t you.

Only when they don't like the transfer, pretty funny it's common practice everywhere around the world, i see the same thing in France

In 7 years he will be 37. I don't know why we are trying to buy 37 year olds... Embarrassing.

He's the best in the world with Kroos and Modric. Real's midfield is a perfect balance. Casemiro would be of very little help in building plays and has failed to impress with Brazil. I actually have a hard time remembering more than a couple of very good games with his NT in 7 years.

That being said, he's amazing at what he's doing with Real Madrid.

I pointed out United weren’t buying him to build plays and were also still seeking another CM in addition. You didn’t like that and said;

No sh*t Sherlock. Do you think united's midfield (and at pretty much any position) has enough quality on the ball to afford spending a huge amount of cash on such a profile?

He's pretty much the opposite of De Jong, who was allegedly ETH dream signing. If United sign him, you can kiss goodbye to your coach as well because it clearly wont suit what he wants to set up.

I pulled you up on the above as you were talking nonsense. Actually showing your true colours. You’re sticking your beak in here to WUM in my opinion.

Have fun.

Somewhere in Manchester, Raphael Varane is lathering himself in babyoil and giving himself pleasure thinking about a competent CDM coming to the club

What do you guys (from the Madrid perspective) reckon will happen?
Your club's in the shitter. If it were Chelsea or Liverpool, I'd give good odds he takes the offer and we sell. With you, i'm not sure. Maybe his belly is full and he doesn't care that much about winning anymore, maybe the money on offer is truly the kind you can't say no to. If I were to wager, I'd put money on him staying.

Then again, if you offer him something like £500k a week? More? I can see it happening. We haven't paid him that much all considered, strangely enough, considering he's been the one irreplaceable player over the last 7 seasons

Funny you mention. I recall you getting very uneasy when someone mentioned two of the best Barca midfielders and how they helped a certain third piece of the puzzle.

We’re talking about losing 40m quid on AWB, Pogba left for free, Telles & Henderson on loan, Bailly quoted as 10m.

Doesn’t matter who the feck we buy, when we’re shit our players have feck all resale value regardless.

Thank you!

Christ on a fecking bike im so sick of all the pseudo economists on here now.

No resale value, high wages for a 30 year old, long contract, blah blah blah.

What a fecking miserable existence ffs.

So anyone who thinks Casemiro isn't a good profile for United to spend 80M + huge salary on is a WUM? Ridiculous. Unlike you, I do offer analysis beyond "He's a DM, we buy him to be a DM and he's the best DM in the world you moaning cnuts!!"

- Ability to fit in a new disfunctionnal team? Irrelavant according to you
- Compatiblity with the style ETH is trying to set up? Irrelevant according to you
- Insight about what could be his issues at United? Why bother, he's the best DM in the world!

Beggars can't be choosers. Classic caf complaining about the deal offered as if there's a guarantee we'll go after someone else if he says no. Just pay whatever it takes, it's CASEMIRO ffs.
