I'm so happy with this transfer I might try to give it a go with the missus tonight. I'll explain to her United bought Casemiro, it might excite her too.
Wish me luck.

Now go get FdJ to partner him.
Casemiro - FdJ - Eriksen. Would be an excellent midfield three.

Shove Bruno to the left or the bench.

When you're discussing a new job with a potential new employer, it's common practice that you don't turn up at your old place whilst it's ongoing, just in case

We do try in fairness. If people paid more attention to the academy, they would see that we do bring in a lot of these types of players and are trying to get them before they really kick on.

Hannibal, McNeill, Fernandes, Garnacho were all very highly thought of and we competed against or got them from teams like Barca etc

We were in the conversation about Camavinga and Tchouameni but you can't just get players because you want them. It's not Fifa. We are 'in' for a LOT of young, highly talented players but some will obviously decide against joining us.

Haaland did exactly this and you'd have to say he made the right decision. Is it difficult to see why a player like Tchouameni would opt for Madrid over us?

Before people whinge about us not scouting players etc, they should go and look at the players we have brought in over the last 5/6 years. We are doing it, just most of our fans only follow the club at a very superficial level. They don't know much about the academy, the setup behind the scenes etc. They just react to whatever is on Twitter and Tiktok.

Below is a list of some of the players we've signed since 2017. It isn't all of them and obviously some will have already moved on etc but that's not the point. The point is we are very active in this section of the market. I bet that outside a handful of the obvious names, the ones who have hit mainstream media, more than 75% of our fans don't know these even exist.

Willy Kambwala
Charlie McNeill
Joe Hugill
Marc Jurado - A prospect in Barcelona’s La Masia academy since the age of seven
Alvaro Fernandez
Radek Vitek
Logan Pye
Isak Hansen-Aaroen
Alejandro Garnacho - Described as “the jewel of the Atletico academy”
Mateo Mejia
Bjorn Hardley

Dillon Hoogewerf - Poached from Ajax’s academy in 2019

Johan Guadagno

Noam Emeran - “Manchester [United] has been more convincing than PSG and Barcelona,” he told Le Parisien. The choice was made with my family, and accompanied by my lawyer.”

Hannibal Mejbri - United signed Mejbri from Monaco in the summer of 2019 in a deal reportedly worth up to £8.5m. Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal all failed in bids to secure the highly-rated teenager’s signature before he decided on a move to Old Trafford.

Reece Devine
Ondrej Mastny
Connor Stanley
Matej Kovar

Not the club's fault our fan base is ignorant and follows the club at a very mainstream level.

We are a shit show but at least complain about the right things. This toxic free for all doesn't help anything.

You're literally viewing this like it's Football Manager. "12 months ahead", the club are and have been trying to be further ahead of the curve than that. Our current academy has multiple pretty outstanding prospects and some have been signed for decent money. The idea is we pay £8 mill for Hannibal instead of £50 mill in a couple of years time. The biggest prospects in our academy haven't been there from 7 years old. Pretty much every single one of them has been signed or poached.
Love this post. It's so frustrating that our academy players aren't getting a chance at the moment, given how awful we have been. Garnacho can feel aggrieved at not having a chance given out attacking issues. Garner hasn't had a look in either. Europa League this season should be an opportunity for some of these guys to get some experience if they're still at the club.

The full backs we have are exciting prospects, looking forward to seeing how they do on loan.

The mentality that isn't present at United without him

As outlined in that piece by Andy Mitten a couple of days ago, Casemiro is apparently a football obsessive and a massive tactics geek - he literally sits at home on his own watching matches on Wyscout, looking at the data and analysing his and other players' performances.

Anyone know what kind of attitude Casemiro has? Someone who can kick our prima donnas up their asses and drag them along or someone likely to get influenced by the whining folks (mainly in attack) and lose all motivation?
Really excited about the signing but I've been this way before only to be let down in a few months:nervous:

I can't post links, so please substitute the space between twitter and com for a dot.

Good luck, would be great if you could live stream it please.

Lingard will be the same age as him in December, so he's still very young folks

Hes clearly not watched Brentford yet or he would have ducked our calls

I must admit, Real Madrid has been hitting nothing but net in the past 5 years if I may borrow an expression from basketball. Everything just seems to work out for them at the end of the day.

Age and mileage are different. Casemiro has been an automatic starter at Real for league + multiple deep champions league runs while also being prominent for Brazil.

Fantastic signing of course, regardless of his age. At this moment one of the best CDMs out there. The transfer fee looks a bit steep, his 4 year contract a bit too long. I'd say 2 year contract with an option of an additional year sounds alot better. Of course, I don't know his salary. If his salary is reasonable, I don't see any reason not to give him a 4 year contract.

Any idea how old Makelele was when he joined Chelsea?

Imagine the shock when he has to analyses Rashford, McTominay , Shaw, Maguire performance.

Promote this guy to Technical director at one though. With his dedication, he would easily find out issues in the team. Not taking 2 defeats before realizing long existing holes in this team midfield.

Yeah, uh-huh, you know what it is

You might say he's.. a student of the game?

Indeed. I'm sure he'll have a positive contribution to make, both on and off the pitch. His leadership and experience will no doubt be of use in the dressing room.

Who said he is getting the same pay?

Better choice of words would be he will get a slight increase here, not as what was reported earlier that he will get double his salary with us.

Again the main difference between his current deal with Madrid and his new deal with United is the length of the contract

People often forget how old Giggs was when he was converted to a central midfielder.

I refused to believe that Casemiro would seriously consider coming to OT, other than as part of a visiting squad scraping their boots on our face, but I’m thrilled to be proven wrong. This is an outstanding addition to a squad which badly needed a CDM. A shame we couldn’t this done a day or two earlier so that he could make his debut v Liverpool.

Think this is a great signing. Still can't believe we pulled it off.
He might be the kind of signing other potential signings take notice of when deciding whether to join us.

Thank you rabiots mum for this signing!! As if we didn’t try Casemiro to start with though, best DM in Europe. Obviously the club trying to save money but to be the best we have to sign the best! Hope we can see ten hags style come together a bit more now though…
