Casemiro | United Player

If Casemiro signs (hopefully we manage to sign a couple more players as well) then I think he buys ETH time to work, sure he is a short term signing, 2-4 years realistically, but right now we need 6 months, this is an amazing signing if it comes off, even if we pay over the odds to get it done, we have always paid over the odds, and the position we are now in gives us no other option, players aren't knocking down our door for the glory of playing here

Lets hope casemiro hasnt done a robinho in reverse (who thought he was signing for utd and not city), and thinks hes signing for city not utd.

Graham Hunter is usually a good journalist and comes across well, but no idea what he's doing in that clip. They're stacked in midfield with young talent, they're getting a good fee for a player who is probably a little past his best but still improves us massively. The player gets his last big contract. Seems like a good deal for all? No idea why it constitutes a "horror show"

Going to say it again now that this look almost done, but the prospect of having Varane Casemiro and Ronaldo (if he ends up staying he'll be professional on the field) playing together again definitely sounds great on paper. Even if none of the 3 are at their peak.

Maybe we'll get to see more of this stuff.

Well Carlo, you moved from Bayern to Napoli to Everton in case you forgot. Everton is not exactly your super top tier clubs. Stop sounding so bitter.

Now do the right thing Erik and give this fecker the armband!
So the answer to replacing the guy who was “only here a minute he hasn’t earned it” given the captaincy is to give it to somebody who not only hasn’t signed yet, but also doesn’t speak the language to communicate with the majority of his teammates?

Get the feck in! After months of fawning over FdJ, this is done days after the rumours.

Cannot believe we are signing a DM. Not only that but one of the top 3 in the world, arguably the top DM.

Here’s hoping we get Ronaldo fecked off because he’s never been professional on the field.

Multiple sources have stated that we're not paying him much more than his current wage at Madrid?
Multiple sources have said he is getting way more than he was getting at Madrid. He was already earning 9m a year. You think he is going to move here for 10m?

 could you imagine the irony. But in all seriousness there's still only one Manchester club across the globe. City is just "city" and I'm sure most people think it's based in the UAE...

It's Marca putting it out there so Real would sell him. In fact, they put it out there so as to signal they would and at the same time get a red army of keyboard warriors demanding we sign Casemiro (why no offer?).

The club will put feelers out and the marketing focus group will report back that, differently from Arnautovic, this would be quite a popular signing. Club making a statement, back to Disneyland and doing what others can only dream of, yadda yadda. It's ON! the paper over the cracks or giant chasms at this point
Told all you doubters exactly what was going on on page 2.

Firstly, don't believe all the rumours.

Secondly, how can you compare Casemiro with Saul? There was a reason he was let go by Atletico and was obvious he wasn't going to do much at Chelsea. You haven't got a clue if you think Casemiro is the type of player to just sit back and take his salary.
I'm comparing him to Saul because, like Casemiro they've spent years playing in La Liga which is played at a far different pace to the PL so no need for your condescending smilie.

Do you really think if Casemiro came to us it would be for our exciting project that we're currently in the process of going through or is it the paycheck that would turn his head? Where's his hunger going to come from when he's so accustomed to winning? Within 6 months he's just going to be going through the motions like the rest of them. A club as unambitious as ours is just a graveyard for good players.

Someone the other day was lecturing 'impatient' posters on here how kids on here don't understand how much preparation it takes for transfers to materialize and how wrong it is for us to criticize. Clearly deals can be done in a matter of days/a week.

Is a weird move. Despite all the great young talent Madrid have, would still expect him to start majoirty of there games, defending a CL trophy and La Liga title at one of if not the biggest club in the world?

He has been a great player for Madrid the last few years. Be interestign to see how he adapts to the premiership at a strugglign side.

One thing to remember though, he has been a great player tidying up all the loose ends behind Europes best midfield pairing...we certainly need an additional midfield signing to partner him as tidying up isnt the role here at the moment.....its plugging huge gaping holes
