Best defensive midfielder AND attacking at the same time. Plays some sublime passes especially to Rashford at the dying minutes that should be a goal

He's growing on me, still feel the best is yet to come with him as he beds in even more.

He had no chance yesterday vs that Villa midfield, they overran and bypassed our midfield with ease as he got no help.

Casemiro and Martinez are our best buy in the last decade. Probably Bruno too, if we see his overall contribution.

Not a fan of his performances in games like this, just didn't give the control needed in midfield.

Not that I think he's bad on the ball but I think we ask too much from him with regards to his passing. Feels he is tasked with a lot of responsibility in possession and can erratic in his passing because of it.

Think he's a beast, the ball he won back for the Eriksen goal sums him up

Good tackle in the build-up to Eriksen's goal. A few other good moments but seemed careless in possession.

He's no Carrick-regen with the ball.

Tremendous defensively, which we've desperately needed in midfield.

Very good at winning the ball back which sets us up for an attack. Did it today and did it against Everton. Needs keep hold of possession a bit more sometimes though, today he just kept pumping it over the top even when no one was making runs.

Gave the ball away so many times. He's one reason why we were struggling to keep possession. His tackling was very good, but a lot of his on the ball work was poor.

Hes a very slow and ponderous player. He has good passing when given time butjust doesnt have the quick feet or quick passing to excel when under pressure in tight spaces.

Seems a different player to the one wearing our #18 as he’ll typically try and pass it with his first touch if he can.

He can't be our deepest midfielder during the build-up.

I wonder if ETH will try to rectify this in the summer(or even winter).

I agree. I am really surprised at some of the reactions here, as the guy is still bedding into the team and in general has been excellent. I feel he’s one of our very best recent transfers, along with Martinez. Calm, organising and effective midfielder whose game will surely improve even further as the team gets to know each other fully. A master.

Yeah, Casemiro isn't a great passer (bit more versatile or creative (though no through balls) a passer than a usual DM but makes more mistakes too) but he certainly doesn't dawdle on it like McTominay does at times and Schneiderlin did or Bissouma does (though he can dribble so it's far less of a problem).

He's brilliant at winning the ball back and acting as a defensive shield. Probably just used to passing it along to players like modric and kroos at Madrid and not exactly taking the lead.

He needs to take a bit more initiative here as eriksen and bruno are not exactly the same quality in possession but his role in us being better in midfield and not being run over all the time is immense.

Thought he was excellent in the fist half, gave the team the platform to attack so freely as they did. Influence waned in the 2nd though.

We'd have been better off signing someone like Palhinha for less than £20m than spunking so much money on Casemiro who is finished. Someone who had no idea what these players cost would be shocked if you told him/her how much Casemiro cost and what he's earning as wages.
You can quote all you want. I stand by what I said. Casemiro was poor once again and was roundly outplayed by Palhinha. Late winner doesn't change that. Another past-it player signed to a massive albatross contract that we will never be able to shift on. That is why we are where we are.
Same club's voted De Gea player of the year multiple times and Luke Shaw player of the year. Means sweet FA. Being the best of a mediocre bunch does not make you good and it especially meant absolutely nothing today when he was dominated by a player that cost 40 million pounds less. So pretty stupid and daft response from you.

I’ll leave these gems here following yesterday

Aside from his tackling and positioning which we already know is brilliant, his passing with both feet is a joy to watch. Has got a proper ping on him as well when it comes to long passing or shooting. Scholes-esque.

Some posters think they know everything about the players we sign and make some judgemental comments just to stay different from others. But once they are proved wrong, they just wait for a moment to pop up and say, hey I told ya.

I mean, if you have watched him last season you know you are wrong.

Or

You haven't watched him at all and you just go by age and salary.

Seriously though !

Hilariously stupid comments, what a melon.

I wouldn’t mind but in the game yesterday he essentially made our first goal by winning the ball brilliantly in the middle of the pitch to break to an attack

I mean we had one guy claiming Elanga is a better player than Antony not long ago who only scores tap ins apparently.

Yep he seems to be heavily involved in a lot of our attacks and key chances created. Him and Martinez trigger a lot of our attacks.

Anyone notice he wasn't part of celebrating that winning goal, just hope there is no issue at all.

I agree we still need that ball progressor type midfielder to see the absolute best of him, however don't believe he's past it like that newbie poster.

He was celebrating it around Garnacho like almost everyone else.

Hes going to be really important for us in the next few seasons. Especially with regards to protecting the defence (which will be key with a partnership with him in front of Martinez and Varane).

Tremendous defensively, which we've desperately needed in midfield.
Tbf even Carrick would struggle in this football Meta.

Fulham purposely gave room to Shaw and especially Malacia and pressed Eriksen/Casemiro very quickly.

Unfortunately they're both a bit slow to accelerate so easier to catch on the ball. I don't think he played badly, but tactically it's an issue with them as a pairing.
