He's been here for two month! Totally different team and tactics, start of the season and in a different country! some people are incredibly impatient

Why on earth did Madrid let this man go? Not complaining whatsoever but he's just so good it's unreal.
They have Tchouameni and Camavinga, they're transitioning now rather than when it's too late and getting a huge fee for it. It's smart.

Really calms me down to hear that we FINALLY have a coach who knows the importance of having a player like this in the middle of the park.

Even to the extent that he’s brought in two players in Casemiro and Eriksen who knows how to move the ball on quickly and with purpose, is calm and composed in almost any situation, are positionally aware and can hit a short and long pass well with both feet.

We’ve screamed for this for so so long. I know these players are special, but we haven’t been able to address this fundamental gap in our squad for years.

To be fair, Matic had a bit of it aswell, but was for the most part troubled physically. Schweinsteiger the same, but was even more done physically.

It's also easy to seem patient when you don't have the tools the expose your impatience. People were as foolish in the past as they are today.
Exactly, it's an unfortunate facet of fandom but it was always there even of we were winning titles for fun.

A transformative signing. Big credit to the player and his agent that could see what he could bring to United and the potential that we had. They way things were when he signed you could forgive them for just staying away. (I know that massive wages were a strong incentive)

Truly loveable fella in addition to being a great player. Makes it more likely DeJong would come if he ever left Barcelona as I fear otherwise he’d have gone to chelsea

After the season we just had… ETH had to get everything right.. bloated market… lots of clubs with crazy spending and Newcastle the richest of them all waiting in the wings… we lost the Modric’s and Varane’s of this world to Madrid and have had to watch them win cl title after another for Madrid while we mired in mediocrity.

Check out Peter Drury commentary of his goal yesterday, absolutely nails it with the excitement levels. Absolutely different gravy to Gardner & Neville/Tyler.

I’m not sure which was more awe-inspiring: his performance over 90+ minutes or his goal celebration.

Casemiro’s goal celebration was raw emotion that reflected his appreciation of the gravity of the moment. No choreography (ie, Lingard), just pure emotion. Give the man the armband.

Apparently the celebration was too over the top and just like Dan James…

Still cant get my head around the fact in 1st few weeks it was mentioned he's a waste of money which could have been better spent elsewhere.

I’ve already gone into it but sure.

He’s lightweight. Can’t keep the ball under pressure.
He’s in his 30s and isn’t someone who’s relied on his on the ball attributes.
Big wages for someone which will keep him here too long.

We need strong players on the ball. Players who will be the foundation of a long and, hopefully, successful team. Players who don’t continue to ruin our wage structure.

I’m not trolling.

I don’t like this signing.
Needs to be quoted again.

I guess I didn't watch him enough at Madrid but is anyone else surprised by his all round ability?

I thought he was more of a sitting destroyer but he's so capable on the ball, crisp incisive passing plus amazing positioning.

A world class player in modern football no doubt.

The impact he has had on this team is ridculous.

Cas and Martinez have been superb signings

You don't win 5 CLs with a clogger in midfield. Obviously he's known for his other strengths, but he's certainly decent enough on and with the ball too

I'm not surprised. He was always much more than a DM, this is why I was so excited to hear Casemiro rumors - much more than De Jong.

I always considered starting attacks as his biggest strength.

Can’t wait til he gets his sights aligned and hits one of his screamers.

Im predicting 6 goals this season and 4 of them from outside the area.

The raw unadulterated passion and warrior spirit from him is irresistible :drool:

Won everything in the club game but you can still see how much it means to him, he's not here simply to cash in cheques. He's here to try to bring us back where we belong and I feel he'll play a very big role in that.

Goosebumps
This post is gradually becoming an instant classic…

Amazing, but the cherry on the cake is Martinez. Hilarious.

I'm watching this for about 10th time.

McT is adequate enough and he showed that under ETH he can improve a lot. I'm convinced McT can be a good player for us down the road at least for the next 3 seasons.

What we need though is FDJ type to stock up the midfield.
Agreed.

Excited to see who we get in the January window. I'm sure the higher ups would have been hard at work these past few months with the Ten Hag to bring in some more players.

FDJ type and a striker would be a solid Jan window.

I don’t feel sorry for any posters trying to ruin our players without giving them the chance!
Thing is, it’s fine saying honest opinions of it may not work. But when said poster was going into the Arthur thread raving about the signing it was absolutely just trolling.

Guy oozes class, really didn't know much about him before he came to United.

His experience and reading of the game are massive for us.

Eriksen and Casemiro are gems. I just wish they were 5 years younger so we’d have a lot longer with them!

great to see his ability shine through but also his passion as well. He's not just here to collect a pay check, you seen his celebrations v Chelsea, but also in Spurs game he collasped to the ground in celebration when we scored in that as well. Great to see after all he has won, he still has that fire in him.
