Wow…that’s impressive when you look back on it like that.
He was impressive just watching the game. He made a few bad passes and that alone outweighed the many positive things he did including winning the ball back and setting up the assist. He is getting in form and understanding his new team mates more.

Really improving and getting more comfortable which is great to see. Big test for him on Sunday!

Wonder where are wasted money posts at the moment.

Pretty sure these posters weren't expecting the victory lap after a 1-0 win against Omonia Nicosi (and yes it was his best game with United's shirt and he's easily MOTM)

Also notable how quickly he releases the ball compared to our past midfielders. He doesn't need multiple touches to recycle possession, he'll first time fire it back into the feet of his forwards after winning the ball to keep the tempo up. Martinez does this really well also.
Loves the first touch pass doesn't he? In fact, against Everton, sometimes he'd do a tackle/ pass with the same contact!

Yes he’s a class act

Starting to look like the player we bought. What I like about all of our signings is that they are way more consistent than most of our other players. With Varane(ok not new), Martinez, Casemiro, Eriksen and Antony on the pitch, I feel much more confident of us at least playing to a certain level.

Was in the Stretford end tonight when I saw that shot hit the bar. Only realised it was an excellent save after just watching the highlights.

Brilliant performance, wins the ball back with absolute ease. So unlucky not to have scored.

BEAST. Easily our best player tonight.

A shame we “wasted” all that money on a central midfielder.

Yeah was our best player tonight. Not only is he great at winning the ball back but his passing is actually very underrated.

Match going fans, does he look over his shoulder a lot? Seems to always know what’s going on around him and when to try a more difficult pass

The passing and reaction times are looking better now. Seems to be a player that takes a while to get going. Hopefully he steers clear of niggling injuries as it might be a pain in the arse if it always takes him games to get to his level.

It's against a team from Cyprus. His sub scored the winning goal.

Sunday is a real test.

I don't get Casemiro. To me he seems to give the ball away a lot and kind of strolls around like it is a practice match and he's not really that bothered.

Yet commentators and Red Cafe tell me he's great. I don't see it.

Did you dislike Carrick for strolling around too?

Where's the victory lap? I'm just saying he's getting in the groove and proving what he's capable of.

The Fact he can do this and be one of the better dm’s this past 10 years is why he’s so good. He’s ultra intelligent.

And all of his managers and team mates you mean

Maybe just maybe you don’t understand the game as well as you think you do.

He's not an all action player. He's a firefighter and he's bloody good at putting out fires.

Couldn't catch last night's game but I'm delighted to hear that he had a good game, he's going to be so important for us.

It was only a matter of time. He is getting adjusted and is now performing. Very good to see.

One other point about his game that will improve a lot over time is the team shape and player familiarity with tactics. At Madrid, they had a super well drilled system where passing was automatic with players knowing each other. At United now, you can see him taking a bit longer to pass and even making some mistakes. As the team gets more disciplined in the positions and tactics of the manager, Casemiro will become a machine of progressive play.

Regardless of the opposition, if you watched him play last night and don't get how he benefits the team, then you might not understand how his position works.

I really do not understand this forum. All I see is fans creaming over Casemiro against a very low block, yet on the counter were a threat.

He obviously is a very good player but so far, none of his performances have been all that. I mean when we lose the ball, he wants to dive in to win it. The number of times in yesterdays game he went into a challenge and lost it, with the opposition then running at our defence is laughable.

Against better oppositions we are going to get countered with ease. Watch when we play Spurs and he looks like a tool.

He's pretty useful upfront but with Bruno up there it becomes a bit too wasteful to have both of them in place so perhaps we could test a :
Casemiro Fred
Eriksen
Or
Casemiro eriksen
DvB
To see whether that utilizes his talents better or not, im not expecting the above 2 to work but I would like to see it in action.

He's got a bit of class, you can see that start to shine through gradually. He's a bit like peak Matic and Carrick in that positionally he's very good, excellent in fact, but like both of them, once his line has been passed, as all teams do at one point, he hasn't got the pace to get back. I guess that's just the modern midfielder, Thiago at Liverpool is the same. In fairness we haven't seen him play v team who we will hit on the counter, so he has probably played a bit higher v the likes of Everton and the Cypriot team, were we have had more possession. Definitely excited we have him, just concerned how we cope against a top team with runners from deep.

Thought he was really good last night.

Even against Everton I found his passing very hit and miss. Thought he kept possession much better last night, won the ball back well and got forward at the right times.

He’s a clear upgrade on the chewing gum and spit that we’ve been trying to use to plug the DM role for years

Dont worry, players make mistakes and the moment he makes a mistake and doesnt have a good game those wasted money posts will be back to tell you that 'they told you so'
They probably didn't watch the game is it was against league one level Cypriot team that nobody has heard of. The only use of games like this are to keep players sharp/fit but I would not use them as a guage as to how great our players are
