Is it just me or he wears more makeup ever since joining United. Seems like he's more aware of how he looks to the public.

It’s an absolute farce. Handball is handball ala Antonio. accidental handball is easy enough to determine ala Rashford. What the f@ck anything else has to do with it is beyond me.

He controlled it fine, his touch wasn't bad at all. He just didn't know the challenge was coming from his blindspot and the defender managed to poke it away.

In an ideal world could he have turned to his right and break into the space immediately? sure.

You just have to say the midfielder did a great job of reading it and won it cleanly. It happens.

Was his passing this erratic when he was at RM? I can't really recall. Maybe he's being asked to do more work in attack because he can't just lay it off to Kroos / Modric?

You can say that about every situation though, there's always something you can do better.

To say he didn't control it is wrong, he just gave the midfielder a chance to nick it - and that he did.

Think you're right, plus the play style here is different so.

Despite the mixed start he's starting to become my favourite player. Should I buy a shirt with his name or wait a couple of months to see if he's the real deal?

I didn't say he didn't control it. I said he didn't control it right. There are times that your first touch should be to stop the ball in your feet. Other times when your first touch should be to your right or to your left. Sometimes your first touch is to turn with the ball. It's all about making the correct first touch...

Yes you can blame him. There was nothing wrong with the pass. It was his first touch. It was horrible. there was lots of space to make a first touch into. He kept it in an area that allowed the tackle to happen. A player as good as him knows better than that. You need to know where the space is at all times and your first touch needs to go towards that space...

That pass should never have been played to him. He has a man in front of him and another charging in from behind. Turning right would have given Onana the chance to nick it legally, this was a borderline foul.

A much easier pass was there to the right, Casemiro shouldn’t have been put in that situation.

There was a pass later that also shouldn't have been played to Casemiro. Some of our players have the bad habit of putting their teammates in very difficult situations for no good reason.

Fair enough, well yes it could have been better but he didn't have time to react really.

Agreed. Was a mistake by Antony. We shouldn't be playing it 5 yards to somebody with his back to play.

Thought he was really good again tonight, would love to see his stats but seemed to win the ball back a lot and was much better with his passing

Yes, much more match sharpness in his game, comfortably our best player tonight I would think.

His class has been evident from day one. Now he’s getting fitter we’ll be much better for it.

Absolute class of a player.

The guy knows how to tackle cleanly and when he does not, he gets away often, compared to Tommy who usually goes through the player to get the ball and almost always gives away fouls in dangerous areas.

Very good. Positionally excellent, very good on the ball, covered spaces and broke up play well and even was one of our biggest threats going forward. Set up a chance for Bruno, who blasted over.

Still worried about him in transition, where there's open space but that's a team issue.

Part of that might just be patience, Scott and Fred have a tendency to rush at players, make their minds up, while Cas has this quicksand effect. Look at Iwobi on Sunday, runs it right back to him at Cas's tempo, takes it off him with laughable ease.

Some were already moaning and said he was finished. He is a hell of a player. Will be a monster for us.

Keeps getting better and better as expected, im hoping he'll make his doubters eat their words by the end of the season.

Good performance, hope he can get his first goal soon too as he's had a couple of chances in the air in the past two games that he could and probably should score from.

Midfield tank. It's also clear why he was being eased into the team. Not Ten Hags signing some said

I was worried for a bit, but there is no way a player who was a staple on one of the best Madrid sides ever and played in so many Champions League finals doesn't know how to play football anymore, or was propped up by superior players. He just has to gel with the player around him, once he figures out their styles, movements & speed, he'll be as clinical with his passing as he has already shown with his defending

Also notable how quickly he releases the ball compared to our past midfielders. He doesn't need multiple touches to recycle possession, he'll first time fire it back into the feet of his forwards after winning the ball to keep the tempo up. Martinez does this really well also.

Shame that thunderbolt didn’t go in, amazing save really.

Was great today.
