I suppose that’s true. Smith, Turner, Brown, Walker, Wood, Shaw are traditional English surnames common in Manchester / Northwest generally. Gallagher sounds Mancunian because of Oasis, probably, but as you say, there is an Irish contingent here.
Yes, I believe so too. I’m desperate for a Frenkie, Thiago type of build. I think the first 20 minutes or so of yesterdays game showed where we miss someone who gets the ball and calms shite down. Newcastle had an awful lot of the ball and we were just going long to Rashford which wasn’t working. Our entire midfield (even Eriksen) are way too lax with their passing.

They're paid to generate traffic and clicks as well as to talk stuff that stirs controversy. Some pundits are genuine morons, but vast majority of idiotic takes you hear from Neville & co. is aimed at engaging the audience, nothing more.
Because it is. He has the good occasional trigger pass but he consistently misplaces easy passes and has low passing completion rates
His passing has been inconsistent and especially in the last 2 games, because he is always trying to play forward at every opportunity, in parts due to the fact that Fred is his partner which means penetrative passing is his responsibility (Eriksen shared that responsibility with him until his injury) and also Bruno being high up, but even though some do not come off, the ones that come off puts the team in an advantageous attacking position.
Everything else he did aside from passing he did it perfectly.

His passing is definitely not "really bad". He occasionally gives away possession when trying a forward pass, but overall his passing is good most of the time and sometimes it's really great.
You do know the player that normally sits in with him to control possession is injured right?
He’s having to do more than he actually should be doing since Eriksen got injured.

That Barca team was different, but a lot of it had to do with the system. Busquets-Xavi-Iniesta was a better trio for how Pep wanted to play, they just mauled teams.
Real Madrid although even more successful than that Barca team in Europe never made me go “wow, I’ve never seen anything like that before”, which is what I felt when I saw that Barca team.
Real Madrid reminded me a bit of our treble team although better, it wasn’t always easy or pretty but they’ve won the lot through sheer determination and obviously quality across the board, Barca was just miles better than everyone else.
At their best they’ve made every team they faced, week in week out, to look like amateurs, they dominated teams on a scale I've never seen before or since, top teams.
Having said that, the impact that Casemiro made here, prime Busquets couldn’t have made in a million years. Casemiro is a far more adaptable player, whilst Busquets would’ve needed a higher calibre of players around him to thrive, plus all these important goals that Casemiro scored this season…
What a player we got ourselves, unbelievable signing, in 3 or 4 years we could be speaking of him in Cantona terms as a signing that was the catalyst to a huge period of success to the club.

Well it's not an important trophy, or in any case it ranks below most of the others (league, CL, FA Cup, Europa), and just a bit above the pre-season gala game at Wembley... but they are absolute winners, and they'd probably celebrate a Caf award of poster of the year in that way, which makes them so bloody special!

Casemiro was brilliant before the outrageous three game ban, but that ban may have given him the rest that he needed before the final run on our assault on the three of the four trophies — one already in the bag — that still lie in front of us.

One of the things i really like about casemiro is he appears to be a very humble and professional player. He seems to only be interested in doing hos best at practice, winning games and spending time with his family. He is not spending all his time on social media or doing interviews, going to the hairdresser multiple times a week or going clubbing every weekend. This can be said for the whole team and is such a refreshing ting after all the drama with Pogba and Ronaldo.
I've said this a lot and it's often overlooked but partially it's due to to the quality of opposition also.
Real in one of their CL runs faced the champion of every country, they played City, Juve, PSG and Liverpool en route to winning it. Naturally those are hard games.
Look at Barca's 2011 win. Who were the good teams then? The only good team they faced was Real in the semi finals, and even then that team was a mile away from the team that would later get Bale, Kroos, Modric etc. It had some really average players starting. United in 2011 were terrible and had no business being in the final, we beat Schalke in the semis ffs.
In 2009 it was closer and our team was better, but even then our final team was somewhat worse than the 07/08 team due to injuries/form. We beat them in 07/08.
It's probably the most overlooked factor in football - the quality of opposition. Sancho for example scored a whole load in the Bundesliga, but if you watch the quality of the goals and the defending you can see that half of those would not occur in a better league.

They did beat Madrid 5-0 in the Clasico, that's a massive part of the (deserved) mythology of that team. And it wasn't an average Madrid, this was almost exactly the team that was going to win the league the next season with 100 points (Casillias, Ramos-Carvalho-Pepe-Marcelo, Alonso-Khedira, AdM-Ozil-Ronaldo, Benzema/Higuain)
Weirdly enough, apart from Madrid (that season - 1 win, 2 draws, 2 losses, 3-9 aggregate), the only team that could really compete with them for long stretches was ... Arsenal at the Emirates.

His passing looks worse because he plays in a position where it is dangerous to lose the ball. He has about the same pass% completion as Bruno at 78%. Weghorst is our worst passer with 72%.
