Carlo Ancelotti | Real Madrid manager

Everton's recruitment in general is a big part of the problem, they should be targeting players on an upwards trajectory and instead it's just a few too many signings of players that the clubs ahead of them have either discarded or passed over. Too many Sigurdssons, not enough Richarlisons.

One of those clubs where you're not surprised if they win most games (barring top 2-4) but you're also not surprised if they get battered 3 - 0 by Fulham.

Did anyone really expect Everton to finish any higher than 7th/8th? Ancellotti was/is a quality manager but that is as much as anyone could do with that squad.

So at the end. Everton finished fecking 10th again after all this talk about their improvement this season, behind newly promoted Leeds, and Arsenal and Tottenham who had had a crap season.

Quite funny when you think about it.

I honestly don't know on what basis you can consider Carlo doing well there.

10th is really bad for the kind of investment they've made in the squad.

Where are all the people mocking Arsenal for not going for an "experienced" coach like Ancelotti? In the end, inexperienced Arteta still did better than Ancelotti despite Arsenal having a shit season.

Experience is overrated, especially on this forum.

Is there anyone who still thinks he's doing well? As was the case with a few sides Everton had a good start to the season and off went the hype train. Everton is about Ancelotti's level now so if they (Everton) really want to push on they need someone better because there's no way they should be finishing below Leeds and Arsenal

Has James gone off the boil for them? Seemed to be a huge part in the earlier momentum.

If only we had his quality management and had signed James....

Fans were genuinely meaning that in the first month of the season!

Let's put it this way. Have you seen any threads raving about him, and how we missed out on him, or heard of any goals and top performances since about October?

He's class player, tbf. Just about as gifted as you could wish to see. He's also made of glass.

Edit: Glass not class!

Underperforming massively, considering their transfers, wage bill, and the quality of manager and players they’ve recruited.

They’re also incredibly dull to watch most of the time.

Ancelotti will have to start next season strongly or he’s going to be under serious pressure sooner rather than later.

He was superb at a world cup a few years ago, and you don't become a huge signing for Real Madrid without being an incredible player.

However, being offered out on loan for years and years and ending up at with all due respect a team who finish 7-12th each season in England probably speaks volumes.

Ancelotti finishing midtable, with good level of resources, shows you how ridiculously competitive the Premier League is now.

He's another dinosaur still getting gigs thanks to his previous success. Not just results wise but he's awful to watch. Can't believe some people here wanted him at United, would be another massive step back because it would take more time to get him out..

The caf experts are full of shit.. No one knows anything but keep pretending.

More like because Carlo is a washed up manager. He has been shit for several years now in 3 different clubs.

He's a manager that does well when the club has elite players. He's not a manager that makes a mid-tier team better.

You mean did.

As his last managerial stent at a club with elite players was Bayern and it was also a massive failure by their standards. Sacked in the first few months of his second season there.

Carlo was a great manager but he has been washed out for a long time now.

Yeah, seems people have realised that with Mourinho but there is still some denial in regards to Ancelotti but its the exact same problem.

He's not a super-tactical coach. He's more of a man-manager, which might have work in the past with Wenger, SAF and etc. But that era has ended and those types of managers are more or less all retired now.

Factor in the squads and there is no way Arteta has come out on top between them.

Summed up really well. On top of that he didn't really focus on fitness level of players when you believe the rumours that many Bayern players weren't happy with his less challenging training methods and hat to do extra sessions themselves after the training.

Carlo Ancelotti is a superb manager who performed well with Chelsea, Real and AC Milan. There's feck all chance I'm going to write him off as a manager for Everton as of yet. He knows the limitations of his squad and is likely going to build on it.

Going on the Everton forum, still behind Ancelotti, but honeymoon period is over.
Also not happy with Marcel Brands ( Director of Football)

Would love to Ancelotti as United manager one day.

He just reminds me of the old school managers. Tonnes of experience and character. Plus he's done it all.

I mean Everton are a weird club. When I think of them I automatically think of Moyes. Both have mid table written all over them.

I'm not at all familiar with what he's done, but looking at the age and calibre of the players they've brought in, something isn't working. Surely the benefit of having a director of football is to ensure that a club's vision outlasts any single manager's short term planning and avoids the upheaval caused by managerial change.
Signing a bunch of 29+ year olds seems to contradict a lot of that.
