Carlo Ancelotti | Real Madrid manager

Mbappe poses a tactical problem that Ancelotti is unable to solve because he isn't much of a tactician. Same thing for Kroos. The players are frustrated and tired because they're not protected by a proper structure and get routinely outplayed by inferior teams on paper. Basically, Carlo is done.
This isn't against you but it feels in this case like a bit of lazy criticism - I don't think anyone can fundamentally solve their front 3 issue because it's ridiculously unbalanced. The profiles are not complementary at all, they want to operate in the same spaces, and have weaknesses in the press. There's not much anyone can do about it. Recruiting Mbappé was hubris from Perez.

Exactly, you can be the best tactician but when you have 2 identical players in style, it is difficult fitting them in.

Neither wants to play as a 9, Mbappe does it because he has to, you can see he wants to go left and take full baks on.

The other issue is neither are any good at tracking back, which means at times Carlo has to over compensate defensively and play Jude RW and Camma LW so the whole team becomes unbalanced.

It makes a big difference because defensively, you can only play with a mid/low block as the 2 up top will not press.

I fundamentally disagree with this, though it is true that the skillsets aren't complementary and they are unlikely to ever have the chemistry of MSN or even BBC, I think all 3 have enough breadth of skill to adapt. But it is clear that they need clearly defined roles and instructions, they are not figuring it out on their own

The same goes for pressing too. Vini and Bellingham are willing pressers and Mbappé is gonna have to be. It might still be imperfect, but a manager good at coaching a high level pressing scheme should be able to implement it with them

Vini is not really a willing presser.. like most players, yeah he may give you the occasional press. Like how Vini and Mbappe on the ball are well clear of other forwards generally, take Martinelli / Saka for example, on the flip side, off the ball the Arsenal plays are miles clear of Mbappe / Vini.

You can teach them but for small spells, I have seen Rashford press but the press is very limited, they wont run back 70 yards chasing the RB/LB back.

Then it also leaves the RW, who plays there?

Even on the ball, Mbappe and Vini are almost identical players, they like to play of the left because they want to utilise their skill and pace one v one rather than receiving back to goal and not seing the ball for large spells.

Raul is waiting...
I think so, otherwise it doesn't make sense to spend so much time in Castilla.
I think he is not being considered as an alternative, or at least that is what they write in As. It is said that he has not been the best at managing Castilla's talent and football is quite grey.
It is also true that something similar was said about Zidane.

Ancelotti's son can be a decent coach in the future but he wouldn't fit right now. I think Ancelotti needs to be populist: use Arda and Endrick, sit Tchouameni (in any case he was injured for a month yesterday) and solve the defensive problem. Lucas Vázquez does not have the level to be a starter for so long

That was really interesting. I'm wondering if Madrid would part with Vinicius next summer? Isn't there a mental world record offer on the table for him from a Saudi club? He'd be mad to go there, but Vinicius and mbappe don't work and Madrid will need a proper no9 eventually i.e. haaland.

I would sack him, although it is not the best timing for Xabi Alonso in the summer, needing someone without weight now.
It's not entirely his fault (injuries, squad creation) but this project seems exhausted. These are the games where things are seen and not against Leganés

Zidane in now and Real is back in the game..

Yes and some will see it as a possibility to rehabilitate Mbappe but Zidane is not a patch. If you bring him back it's not to stay until June.
I love him but I feel lazy just thinking about his third chapter, at least now

Ironically the perfect manager for this squad would have been Hansi Flick

He should be sacked asap. Legendary manager, but not the manager Real Madrid need right now..

He won’t be sacked. He will either retire or it will be a „mutual decision“.

All of this means that they sacked him, but the PR spin will be there out of respect for Carlo.

I dont understand. Pep the greatest manager of all time. He lost 6 out of 7 games. 9 points behind Liverpool. None calls for his head. Real’s form has never been that bad.
If Real wins they are 2 points behind Barcelona.

The balance in the squad is not going to magically improve by replacing the manager.
