Carlo Ancelotti | Real Madrid manager

Your fans used to doubt him because of his english.

He came quite quickly after Scolari who didn't speak a word of English, so perhaps that created a bit of doubt towards Carlo? I have to say I don't remember the existence of this doubt myself. The majority of the fanbase were upset when he was sacked.

IIRC the one title in eight at Milan was the biggest bugbear. I think many thought it would be tough to keep up with a league winning freak (Fergie) with him in charge.

Ironically he cracked the league but flopped badly with his specialist subject, I honestly thought we were forever destined not to win the UCL after that.

NOTICE what Ancelotti says: "The best thing is the atmosphere of this team. It's so easy to train these players because they're all humble, they never complained"

I feel bad about ridiculing him as our new manager when he was touted for it. Not because I thought it was bad, just thought he wasn't what we needed at this time, and still think the same.......but he's one of the best ever, absolute boss, done it everywhere, owns the champs league

Surely in the conversation for the greatest manager of all time at this point...

Not talking about Ancelotti in particular. What a group of fecking winners. Beat PSG + all top 3 PL teams on their way to the title, including the two teams managed by Klopp and Guardiola that hit 90+ points in the league. Nobody can say that they had an easy run, unlike Liverpool who arguably had the easiest run to the final in the CL history.

I wish our players had even a quarter of the winning mentality Real's players have. That club is run with ruthlessness toward both managers and players, and it clearly works. We on the other hand is FC Sentimentality and proud of it.

Imagine if it was Ralf/Arteta who managed this RealMadrid team, they would throw those players under the bus because they couldn't run up and down and press for 90mins and apparently pressing non-stop+build from the back is the only the way to play football

Then claimed this RealMadrid need a 3 years rebuild and replace like 10 of those aging players.

Starts with a ruthless fanbase. Despite everything this bunch has achieved if they aren't cutting it in the present time they are quickly informed in no uncertain terms.

The minority willing to be that ruthless with their team in this country are quickly drowned out by the majority branding them a fake fans, people who don't know the definition of support etc.

I was under the impression that the Sentimentality FC is a United specific thing. Is it also the case for Chelsea? Certainly not with the managers at least.

The few members on the Shed End that publicly stated they thought replacing Lampard was the right thing to do got all sorts of abuse and questioning of their fandom. If fans were allowed in the stadium at the point it nosedived south with Lampard he'd have still had universal backing even if we ended up fighting relegation that I'm very sure of (one even stated he was worried about just that but was still fully behind Frank).

Liverpool fans from my memory were also just as bad with Kenny and Brendan even after it became obvious they weren't cutting it.

And a section of Arsenal fans and their Arteta blindspot needs no introduction.

Don’t want to back to an old thread but in the last 5 games, his tactics seem a bit weird. I know and respect his approaches in big or important games. However, after the world cup, it has looked a bit weird. Although you can say that they face some problems like injury, aging players, or doesn't have Casemiro anymore.

Can't seem him being there at the end of the season unless they win CL again but unlikely that Benzema will have a repeat run in CL again this season. Team is looking a bit old at this stage, some key players in their mid 30's. Poch to be given a go maybe?

Tuchel makes more sense than Pochetinno, maybe a return of Zidane

Forgot about Tommy T. Some good managers available. ZZ possibly now that the French job won't be available for a couple years.

Shame he never managed us which looking at some of the clubs he did manage he probably should have.

The way he thought they were gonna do something in UCL and completely ignored la liga since new years :wenger:

I hate when managers think they can depend on their old experienced players forever. Fergie was the same in his last few years but at least he had the Glazers' excuse.

There's no manager in world football who you'd want to try and overturn a 2 goal deficit after being demolished in the first half. But I feel he needs to ring the changes as well as tinkering tactically. Alaba to LB, Rudiger (who should definitely not have been dropped) to CB, Camavinga to midfield, and Tchouameni on.

Not sure if he should move Valverde to the right and take off Rodrygo or just leave him on and take off Modric and Kroos.

Ancelotti managing in a World Cup would be a good thing.
