So would it be less ill-phrased if the actress was white? I'm pretty sure he was talking about the character as opposed to the actor so not understanding this. Maybe I'm just a bit slow.
Maybe its the context. The film is about the green witch being misunderstood and mistreated isn't it? Her being black green being part of that. She's just such a massive wicked fan that she couldn't take slander against the green witch. Which is a totally sane and reasonable response? I mean if someone talked smack about Nicholas Cage then you'd have to report them obviously.

Ahh I see! I genuinely never even looked at it in that context. I just thought "yeah he's talking about the green one".

As for the bolded, they would get a black eye before they could finish talking that smack,
