The only thing about the U21 squads is that they're always changing to some extent due to players ageing and also moving up to the seniors. The squad isn't as fixed as a senior squad, so it's not really like he's taking another player's spot, as such.

It only changes every tournament, at beginning of qualifying they change what year you had to be born in,

Seems a bit unfair if there are/were other players available that played well in games leading up to this. But I suppose if those players are at the level of Henri Lansbury (why does he even get in the squad? Experience or not he will never be good enough for the England squad).

Yea, isn't really about 'fairness' tbh. It's about what is best for the team, and more importantly, England's first-team in the long-term.

It's like McClean for Sunderland last year

McClean simply isn't a very good footballer. Any body that follows Irish football will tell you that his form this season is about his level. In fact, I think his form post-Christmas last season was seriously overrated as all he used to do was carry the ball thirty yards further up the field and then earn a throw by belting the ball off the full-back. His style is more suited to rugby than football.

My guess is that based on the fact that Wigan got relegated and that we look to be letting Nani go, I would put money on this chappie joining us - value for money.

Christ, I hope not. I don't think he's United quality. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go Everton.
