Red Cafe Gran Turismo Race Series​


Come one come all. In readiness for the massively anticipated Gran Turismo 5 thought we'd get names into the list to form the clan/race team. Idea is to have a race meet once every two or so weeks and build a championship out of it. Just looking for names at the moment and we'll go from there. Make sure you put your PSN Id's down.

Rules.

1. No intentional crashing. Any/all crashes suspected of being intentional to the detriment of others will incur a 5 place penalty. Repeated offenders will be barred from the series. Rubbing is racing, but barging is cheating. You can avoid penalty by stopping on circuit until that person has re-passed you regardless of how many other cars go passed before hand. It can work in your favor or against.

2. Series will host a drop your worst round points category. I understand that not every person can make every round, thus you drop your worst round regardless of how many points scored.

3. Drivers are permitted to form teams/alliances with other drivers

4. The series will consist of a single drivers championship.

2nd :170
3rd: 150
4th: 145
5th 140
6th: 135
7th: 130
8th: 125

11th: 110
12th: 105

20 Bonus points for fastest lap over both races. Races will be divided up into a fast and slow group. Say we have 24 racers, the maximum a driver in the slow group can earn is points for 13th place.

Points after the 1st round look like this.

1st: RedNome 200
2nd: Marchi 170
3rd: Leg-End 165*
4th: Karlbyrnes 150
5th: Bomer 1986 140
6th: Weaste 135
7th: Sir-RedSky 130

*denominates fastest lap and therefore bonus 20 points.

There are many ways of doing this. The races can only take up to 16, but the lobby can take up to 32. It depends on how many people want to do this. If it's more than 16, then maybe we need to set-up a league structure promotion and demotion?
 
In, 'FerryTuckwit'. I won't have a wheel for a while, but I'll give it a crack with the old DualShock until then.

Well if we get more then 16, we divvy the numbers up into groups.

We have two 5 lap heats to find a fast group and a slow group. We then have two 10 lap races. The feature races will be the slow group followed by the fast group. Say we get 20 guys, we'll go down by 5's. The least the worst runner in the fast group can get is 55 points and the most a person in the slow group can get is 50. However, if it allows in the game, bonus points will be handed out to fastest lap holder.

The Heats will work from 10 points and down for both races.

I'm terrible and can't be relied on to play all of the time but I would be up for the occasional race.

Why am I not on that list? I want to be on that list. I posted on this thread to be on that list and several people who posted after me on this thread to be on that list are on that list.

I do own the F1 2007! :mad:

Hopefully that patch allows the Prologue car import thing. There must be something in there where not everyone needs to own the car, otherwise it would be a bit daft. You had to complete all S-Class events in Prologue to unlock it. Elvis obviously would never get near it.
