Yeah, he was out of contract this summer, Schalke tied up the deal in January.
Bugger, there's a 20 image restriction... so going to have to lose the club icons.
He had a contract until 2015 and a release clause over 2.5m. The deal was done during the winterbreak, it's comfirmed since January.
Didn't know Lewandowski had run his contract down, what a twat.

According to media they pay him about 3,5m, which is quite a lot. He is a 26 year old guy who played one good season in the second league. This year he played a great first half, but was non existent in the second half (also due to injuries). I think he is vastly overrated and only a squadplayer for teams, that want to qualify for the CL. I dont think, that he will be a starter for Schalke.
Is Sebastian Rode any good?
He could've left last summer already but BVB wanted to keep him, Bayern were throwing something around 30 mil Euro for him.
Tricky one to answer. He's decent, but imo not Munich quality.
Is Ji good enough to start for Dortmund? I haven't seen him play since he scored that legendary stoppage time goal vs City

There are rumours about the idea to turn Rode into a rightback and keep Lahm in midfield. I'd say that's the only chance he could become a starter at Bayern. He's a good defensive midfielder, but not talented enough in that role for a European top team. However with the lack of quality fullbacks in the world at the moment, it could be a chance for him. He has the physical attributes and always looked like a smart and disciplined player, maybe worth the try.

Guardiola wants to play 3-4-3 system for the next season. I remember you have said the same a couple of months ago.
Yeah, I always expected him to move towards a 3-4-3. Problem is, I don't expect it to work and therefore a well working 4-3-3 back-up formation would be nice, so that we can actually win important games.

Though with the lack of quality full backs you would think playing one of the worlds best (lahm) there rather than in midfield and letting one of the worlds best defensive midfielders (martinez) play there instead of at centreback might be a more obvious solution?

Depends. There's the question if Lahm is maybe wasted as a fullback and could be one of the best midfielders in the world for Pep's system. The influence of a CM is way way bigger than the influence a fullback has on the game. We clearly played the best football this season with Lahm in the holding midfield role in a 4141 and none of Schweinsteiger, Martinez or Thiago could play that position like Lahm did. They all struggled for various reasons and we had to adjust the system to fit them in, when they came back from their countless injuries.

Leverkusen seem to be doing a pretty hefty clear out. I imagine they'll be purchasing a few more players.
I hope Freiburg is getting some funds for replacements this summer. They've lost Baumann, and Matthias Ginter is sure to follow. Seems he is destined for Dortmund, but wouldn't mind having him at United.
Yeah, Baumann went for 8m euros. So they'll have cash to burn.
Braunshweig just confirmed that Ermin Bicakcic will join Hoffenheim in the summer.

I started something similar last summer in the first few posts of the new Bundesliga thread, but only for the top5 or 6 teams and I gave up after a few weeks and never really finished the complete list. I hope your motivation to update here throughout the summer is higher than mine was last summer

I've streamlined the updating process, so it's really nice and simple to do now. All the images are dropbox too, so don't need to mess around editing the posts. Just have to overwrite the images on my computer. So should be easy enough to keep updated!
According to BILD, Wolfsburg have begun their summer preparations with the signing of Sebastian Jung of Eintracht Frankfurt for just 2.5 million euros. Brilliant transfer for them if true, especially for such a low fee.
Had a release clause apparently so that's why he's cheap. Great signing for them though.
