Bundesliga 2018/19

If there had been any doubt that club leadership at Bayern was a huge problem, they removed that doubt themselves today. What a public meltdown

Is Kovac really Hoeness's golden boy? What a way to deflect poor results conversation

It's more like the opposite of a deflection, they turned a string of bad results and the resulting media coverage, which would have resolved itself one way or the other soon, into "deranged bayern leadership wages war on the press".
Everyone is going to look at them even more closely now and I don't doubt for a second there will be many ready to stick a knife in should they struggle in upcoming matches.

I just can't imagine any wax in which this was a good move, unless Hoeneß thinks he's a god for coming back into office straight from jail.

I also wanted to share this gem for you:)

Eintracht fans have printed thousands of these stickers and are distributing them all over Frankfurt to show their support for Niko Kovac

Inspired by the king of Bavaria himself when he announced a Bavarian space exploration program

The funniest bit was where Uli Hoeness suggested that the turks were responsible for boos vs Kovac at a handball match. No connection to the story whatsoever, he just randomly shat on a whole ethnic group:confused::lol:

Actually the funniest part was the Juan Bernat story

Watched it again. I think my favourite part is Hoeneß getting out his glasses to read the n.tv names.

Also random YouTube comment when Hoeneß was speaking: Он говорит как Гитлер (He speaks like Hitler).

Frankfurt play some lovely stuff now Kovac has gone. Hopefully similar happens for us when we sack Mourinho.

I am very impressed with this Adi Hütter version of Frankfurt, the last few games they have been really good to watch.

Luka Jovic, Sebastian Haller, Ante Rebic and Filip Kostić is a talented attacking quartet, and they seem to have a coach who will exploit that very well.

Just sensational

So enjoyable.
Jovic amazing, as he always is.

Was already very impressed by Frankfurt against Lazio in the Europa League. They confirmed it today.

Players getting rejuvenated by leaving Hamburg, like Kostic, Wood, Walace, Hahn, seems to be a common theme these days.

Really impressed by Jovic, built like a tank and has good technical ability as well. He's only 20 right? Hope he stays on beyond his loan deal from Benfica. That being said, Rensing was absolutely awful, should've saved 3-4 of the goals by being quicker to the ground. He used to be so good at Koln, I remember.

Eintracht have a clause to buy him at the end of the loan for 10-12m €, that's super cheap for a player of his quality. He won't become the next Lewandowksi, but he can easily become the next Mandzukic in terms of quality, and that dude played and scored in 2 CL finals and in a world cup final.

Do Benfica have to sell though?

I disagree.
There's something about Jovic and the secret is out now across Europe after that last night.

He's only 20 and his finishing is truly exceptional. He doesn't need numerous chances and rarely misses. Very much an instinctive player who is more likely to miss if given too much time to think in some ways.

Second goal last night was just superb but the third was equally so as the ability to control a pass into the penalty area, swivel and turn to shoot is very difficult to do.

I do think Dusseldorfs keeper might have prevented the 4th or 5th but hes now BL top scorer so far despite being on the bench for most starts.

Is Jovic on loan from Benfica or does he belong to Eintracht? Saw another day a interview by Boto ex scout from Benfica who is now at Donetsk, who was the guy responsible for his signing saying he still believes Jovic is a top talent and if he didn't played at Benfica it wasn't his fault.

He is on loan, but Eintracht can buy him for 10-12m € and Bobic already said that they will trigger the clause.

Another talent not good enough for Vitoria. I wonder why.

Süle stops a Wolfsburg attack and probably should have been sent off, think he was the last man and no ball was involved in that tackle.

Dortmund wreaking havoc, 2-0 Reus, 3-0 Alcacer within two minutes.

Lewandowski gets a second after a horribly undercooked back pass to Wolfsburg's keeper

Dortmund look to have stepped up after struggling a bit at the start of the season. Everyone is basically scoring for them and from every position. If Bayern don't improve it's gonna be difficult for them to catch them.

And Alcacer. Maybe his found his level for now.

He was doing well in Spain at a young age before going to Barcelona, the lad's always had it. It's not a level thing at all. Plus he was scoring for fun for Spain last week too, guess he's full of confidence and enjoying himself! Thanks Barcelona :D

Feel like this league is getting worse in terms of quality.

really? I think totally the opposite. Bayern might not be as good. But this Dortmund team is really good now after a couple years of too average transfer dealings and play. Mönchengladbach have got a lot of very good players and a solid squad, as have Leverkusen (might need a coaching change though to get the best out of them!), Frankfurt have a really strong attack which will serve them well and are playing some great football for Hütter. Leipzig are again building a really good young team. Bremen are playing some excellent football too. Hertha are much improved on last year. This is a fun league to watch right now with a lot of very good players, much of them young players, spread nicely between a lot of teams.

Werder Bremen 2nd after a convincing away win.

Both Gladbach and Hertha have home games against small teams tomorrow and could end on second place depending on goal difference.

There are like 6 teams besides Bayern and Dortmund who could end up on a CL place. Hoffenheim, Leipzig and Frankfurt will realistically go on some long Europa League runs later in the season, which should see them drop a few points in the league.

Is Hertha the real deal? Is Werder Bremen the number one challenger for Dortmund? Has Hecking found his mojo back?

I notice that Marius Wolf, who left Eintracht for BorussiaD in the summer, does not appear to be featuring significantly for Dormund this season.

After breaking into the first team, he had a great season last season for Eintracht when, for years previously, it seems he was going no where.
Now it appears he's back to square 1. Not on the bench yesterday and rarely in the team. . . Whenever he's in the squad he's usually left as an unused sub.

What's the story there?
Any Dortmund fans enlighten us?
Does Favre not fancy him?
Is he injured?

Always felt he was taking a risk going to Dortmund and that another season at Eintracht would probably have fared him better. . . I wonder did he listen too much to the hype.

He played the first 4 matches, then went without game time for two matches, not in the squad for one of those, then he was injured for the next to games. So he actually played 4 out of 6 of the league games he was available for and started in 3. He also started all games in the CL and DFB cup.
