Bundesliga 2018/19

It would not have surprised me to see him sacked after yesterday's matched. But since I don't know what Bayern's replacement options are or how good/bad the situation actualyl is in the dressing room it's hard to tell. Bayern's leadership is probably reluctant to sack him early since they went out on a limb when hiring him and Bayern's squad is strong enough individually to win matches even when things are a mess underneath so this might end soon or it might go on for a little bit longer, but I would bet big on Kovac not surviving this season.

Bayern play in Athens in the CL later this month.

I'd say he's gone after that.

Perhaps Julian Nagelsmann should take up at RB Leipzig now . . . before he gets sacked at Hoffenheim.

That's three home defeats in 8 days.

He is, of course, a genius. . . .

Leipzig is destroying Nürnberg right now. 4-0 not even that close to HT.

Hoffenheim were going to Bundesliga 2 when he took over of course....They've massively overachieved during last two years.

CL + Bundesliga is just too much for them especially as they lost more key players during the summer.

He's done a great job at Hoffenheim but eaten bread is soon forgotten.

He's 2 points above Stuttgart (who sacked their manager today), and has won just 2 out of 9 competitive BL/CL matches.

You're only as good as your last match in football. . . . and Nagelsmann needs to get the points on the board soon (which I'm sure he will)

they just don't have the depth to cope with the 2 competitions. When you look at their squad - sure, they have some nice players in the first 11 - Vogt, Schulz, Baumann, Amiri, Grillitch, Demirabay, Kramaric to name a few. But once you get beyond their starting 11, the drop off is quite significant. They have also had ridiculous injury problems so far this season.

He did an amazing job to even get this club qualified 2 seasons in a row for Europe, he really did. I'm not his biggest fan, he's a bit too arrogant at times for my liking - he has a lot to learn still, but he is a really good coach. Hoffenheim won't sack him. He'll turn them round like he did last season - where they had plenty of struggles too.

Kovac should be sacked for the idea to play Goretzka as RB and Kimmich as LB after Alaba's injury.....he had a young LB (Meier) on the bench.....i mean why is a player like him on the bench if he wouldn't play/trust him......all other young players in their Academy must think "Why i'm actually here?".

I thought he was a winger.

VfB Stuttgart announce Markus Weinzierl as their new head coach.

Nice to see him back in the Bundesliga, interested to see how he gets on there. They where interested in him last season, but cos of his contract pay-off issues with Schalke 04, he couldn't take up another coaching job.

I liked what he did with Augsburg, so hopefully he can do well with Stuttgart.

I'll give it another 2 matchdays before we'll probably end up with Hasenhüttl who'll suck just as much...:wenger:

Is there anyone in this forum who watches Hertha Berlin's matches?
How is Marko Grujic doing there? Physically well built, strong player, can shoot. I had big hopes for this guy and thought Klopp could use him this season.

You know what I just learned? That the German meaning of Bayern Munich is Bavaria Munchen, which is literally just the name of the province and city put together (i.e Lancashire Manchester). Lame!

He started really well, became an important player in our midfield, then got injured against Gladbach. As far as i know, he won't be able to play for at least another four weeks.

Basically the same with Borussia (= Prussia = Preußen) Dortmund/Mönchengladbach. Then there's also Alemannia (Germany) Aachen.

Although the Dortmund version of Borussia isn't for the location, they took the name from a brewery called Borussia.

that was such a disgusting tackle that injured Grujic too. Shame for him, I only saw one game of his so far, but he semed to have settled in very nicely to Hertha's midfield.

Not sure if he'll ever make it at Liverpool, but maybe he'd be a good squad replacement for someone like Henderson. I can't see how he'd offer less than a player like Henderson.

Countless examples of that. Sachsen Leipzig, Hessen Kassel etc. But for some reason it doesn't so weird in your native language. I always thought Espanyol Barcelona was a really strange name, though.

Thanks for ruining Borussia for me now  Germans really are lame at naming their clubs! :D

Thanks for the news. Grujic got a very good reputation in junior level, same as Milinkovic-Savic. Although, they are far apart now.

Liverpool's previous loan to Heertha BSC didn't work out. Hopefully this one will and help both Hertha and Grujic.

Alcacer now with 10 goals in 278 minutes for Dortmund & Spain.

So... Kovac ended his presser with "enjoy the second part". Either that's super cynical, or he knows it's not about him. I'm going for the latter and this is not going to be Kovac being replaced. It might be BMW... or some surprise signing for the winter?

It would be completely insane to let Kovac host the pre-match presser just to sack him an hour later. Not mention doing so AFTER an international break, someone else could've used to settle in.
Probably some announcement on the business end of things.

So it turns out Bayern's second presser is just their bosses whining and telling the media how outraged they are at their evil ways. They literally hosted a seperate presser with Hoeneß, KHR and BRAZZO just to pout.

Kalle Rummenigge: "the dignity of man is inviolable [article 1 of the German constitution] in football, too"

Uli Hoeneß in the last couple of weeks:
"Bellarabi is sick in the head", "Özil has been playing garbage for years"

Bayern's bosses have always gotten away with murder in terms of hybris and hypocrisy, but this takes things to a whole new level.

Hoeneß:
"I think it's about time that the biggest club in Germany takes a clear stance"

BRAZZO:
"Our players are self-critical. Questioning the work of the entire club so quickly is not acceptable. I will always defend my players and my coach."

Kalle:
"We at FCB have decided to no longer accept this kind of media coverage."

Hoeneß inbetween their rants about a lack of respect from the media towards their players:
"When we played in Sevilla he was solely responsible for us almost going out. The weal and woe [of Bayern] does not depend on Juan Bernat."

Rummenigge to a journalist [regarding one of his articles I think]:
"If you haven't already you will get a letter from our attorney"

Wow, they are really rattled, and it's wonderful  Maybe they should try showing a bit of this passion on the pitch, they've looked very flat recently!

I can't say I'm a big fan of football journalists generally, but I honestly hope they stick together here and not allow this sort of nonsense, and give it back to the precious ones at Bayern with both barrels.

Bayern Munich are run by convicted criminals.

Two bob club.

Hahaha, whenever you think this shithouse club cannot embarass themselves anymore, they surprise you. What a pathetic board of directors they have.

Wow, that's pretty pathetic. I've always thought Bayern would never hire Jose but if they want a war with the media he could be the perfect man. Come and take him!

So, Rummenigge seriously recited the most important right of our constitution, the one that is brought up when it comes to standing against hunger, poverty, torture, persecution and the death penalty amongst many other things, in the context of the media coverage of professional football players....
Are you fecking kidding me ?

What makes it even more bizarre is the way Hoeneß speaks about Juan Bernat only a couple of minutes later, throwing him harder under the bus than I have seen by the media about any Bayern player recently.

This is a full blown meltdown. The current underperformance of the team is one thing and can also just be a blip that could be forgotten very soon, but the way their officials handled all this should lead supporters to worry, a lot.

I definitely enjoyed it. How far from reality can you be?

Is Kovac really Hoeness's golden boy? What a way to deflect poor results conversation

Nah he's not. He's a peripheral figure in this whole drama.

I just watched the press conference with the three big bosses. That was pure gold, I couldn't stop laughing:lol:

Eerily similar situation to Mourinho vs the media, but this is way funnier:) Everyone knows Jose will get sacked at some point in the near future and the circus will leave with him, but Uli and Kalle are here to stay:drool:

The funniest bit was where Uli Hoeness suggested that the turks were responsible for boos vs Kovac at a handball match. No connection to the story whatsoever, he just randomly shat on a whole ethnic group:confused::lol:

Actually the funniest part was the Juan Bernat story:lol:

No, wait, I can't decide:mad: Too much good stuff:lol:
