Bundesliga 2018/19

So if some La Liga side lost 3 in a row, have Barca up next, you think it is okay to tell the manager he has to win against Barca or he gets sacked? Mind blowing

You think it's okay in a sport competition to tell the manager "Don't worry about winning, just don't lose too high"? That... is mind blowing.

As soon as I saw that tosser Felix Byrch reffin the Frankfurt match ..... I knew Leipzig would get a penalty.
Cheat.
But, but... Where was your complaint, when the ref turned a blind eye and gifted Frankfurt a win in the EL just 4 days ago? You are embarrassing yourself (again).

Gifted Frankfurt a win in the Europa League?

You must have been watching a different match to me.
Did you see the second yellow card that Jetro Willems received?
Farcical.

Either way at least a German referee wasn't refereeing that match. Felix Byrch is a ghastly referee, absolutely f'king terrible. There were numerous offsides given (which were not offsides) where goalscoring chances were denied. You end up just laughing at the decisions.
He made a total tit of himself sending off Ronaldo and had to be sent home from the WC after his dreadful performance in the Serbia-Switzerland match. I also personally believe that there is something of the Robert Hoyzer's about him because he cheated Serbia out of the WC.

This is what the Serbian FA stated in their report to FIFA in June:
"We have submitted seven video-recordings clearly showing Brych’s tendency to make decisions against our national team. The footage reveals Brych’s double standards in brandishing yellow cards, as he was quick to book our key players while he didn’t do the same in similar situations at the other end."

Byrch was then sent home after 1 match at the World Cup.

And, of course, there's this:

When I saw him refereeing Frankfurt-Leipzig I immediately texted a few other Eintracht fans with "Expect a Leipzig penalty"

He's a referee that alters the result of matches because of his terrible performances.

Werder close to Bayern, that's how i like it.

Bayern had a goal disallowed just minutes before the equaliser by a very debatable offside decision, at least that's what it looked like at first glance.
Well, we didn't do enough over stretches of the game, can't complain too much about hte draw.

Schalke is a dumpster fire though.

Well, guess that's it for Tedesco. No one can survive 5 defeat in a row after finishing 2nd the season before.

Should have finished the game off in the first half. Wagner missed some guilt edge chances and Renato could have had a couple as well.

Happy with Gnarby's assist though he was a bit anonymous the rest of the game.

Their summer transfers have been atrocious (Sane and Serdar), the first person who should be fired is the personal responsible for those (Heidel?). Schalke have no business being in the top 6 based on their squad and anything close to that should be a success, Tedesco can stay but the moron responsible for their transfers should not.

Well, not so fast.

Schalke lost their first 5 matches in the 2016-17 season under Weinzierl, and he managed to keep his job for the entire season until he got the sack in June 2017. They eventually finished tenth on 43 points.

Tedesco's record is virtually identical to Weinzierl's first 5 matches:
Weinzierl: P5, L5, F2 A10
Tedesco: P5, L5, F2 A9.

Truly phenomenal that the runners up of any major league would lose their first 5 matches the following season. It could only happen in Germany. People talk about the predictability of the league. It is true that there is no competitor to Bayern but the rest of the league is very entertaining (apart from the refereeing).

You are right. Schalke had already lost their first 5 games 2 years. They are a weird team

Dortmund beat Nürnberg 7-0. Not possible to draw too many conclusions from it as Nürnberg went behind early, generally couldn't cope, and fell apart in the second half. But still Dortmund's first really dominant performance this season, better movement, quick one touch plays and some effective counter pressing. Bruun Larsen (second start) and Zagadou (first start) looked as good as in preseason, Hakimi (first start) had a good game too.

Some of the goals Dortmund scored yesterday were great team play. Hopefully they can mount a serious title challenge from there.

Hertha 2:0 Bayern at halftime.

Duda at the moment the top scorer in the Bundesliga with 5 goals, as midfielder.

That would make it 4 games in a row against Bayern without a loss for Hertha, that's almost Real Madrid-esque :D
It's definitely not over though, Munich could still win this.

Honeymoon will be well and truly over for Kovac if Bayern don't turn this around. . . . Always suspected that he would be tested very early on in the season.

It's by no means a certainty that Bayern will walk away with the BL this season.

Unfortunately though teams that can challenge are too inconsistent, like Dortmund.

For all their inconsistency, if Bayern lose this and Dortmund win their match, they're ahead. And given Favre's track record Dortmund are only gonna get better.

Great challenge from Kimmich, took out two Hertha players and the referee.

Surprise but it's their first defeat of the season and they'll win the league anyway. Nothing to look here.

I did.

Now I'm off to Frankfurt for our home match v Hannover on Sunday.

What a great start to the weekend.

What I also didn't expect: I moved to Berlin a couple of weeks ago. Today when I went to get some food in the second half, I walked past quite a few bars. None of them were showing the game. Nobody cared that Berlin was leading against Bayern.

Which neighbourhood would that be?

Fantastic win for Hertha. At least the league is gonna be a bit more interesting now, albeit Bayern are still gonna win it.
