Bundesliga 2017/18

Now that's disruptive video reffing

And 2 minutes later he cards Oczipka, while everyone was waiting for a pen decision involving Tah against Burgstaller.

It was the correct decision.

All in all, the level of this game is just awful, neither team has been able to string two passes together for about 20 minutes now

Sure, the card was deserved. But I think it could have easily been a pen as well.

Best thing about this match are two guys in the stands, a S04 and a Bayer supporter who are standing next to each other squabbling all the time

Nah that's way too soft and too close to a dive for a penalty, IMO it would be a disaster if VAR would be used to award such penalties.

I think the long break for the video review was because they had to comb through this whole brawl and shoving match, where you have a lot of players to monitor.

iirc Kagawa scored with a very similar shot vs Schalke a while back.

Brilliant header by Muto to equalise the game in Wolfsburg :)

Aubameyang's penalty. . . Delighted for him. . . the cheeky little bastard.

Video ref has been very good today, even though I'd have taken that last minute pen.

What's wrong with Aubameyang? Misses the easiest one on one ever by doing step-overs (why!?), tries to do a Pirlo with the penalty when his team was under pressure and has it saved, and then gets ponderous and gets tackled by the defender on the 2 vs 1 when his teammate was literally on acres of space! I don't even support Dortmund and I had veins popping up because of how I angry I was with him!

What I don´t get is:

The video referee cannot stop the game for a review until a dead ball? So say Augsburg had scored before the ball went out of play, then the goal counts, if the video ref is wrong, and it does not if he is right. Wow that will be an interesting one, when it happens, and they not only call the action back for a penalty the other way, but also disallow the goal at the other end, making for a potential two goal swing.

Btw that pull of the shirt is the one I was saying will be the most fascinating, cause that literally happens on every corner. So when do you call it? Lewandowski seems to have specialised in this already. Using the Bayern Munich power to pull out these penalties frequently.

Actually - last season Bayern had 16 not given penalties according to wahretabelle.de ...

VAR has been fantastic.

Eintracht v Stuttgart . . . reffed by Felix Byrch. . . My immediate reaction was "Put Stuttgart down for a pen. . "

Sure enough the penalty arrived (at 1-1) and it came with a straight red for good measure. Byrch though was overruled by VAR and a free kick just outside the area was awarded instead.

Frankfurt went on to win 2-1 with a superb injury time overhead kick from Sebastian Haller.

A clear example of how terrible Bundesliga referees have long since been one of the main factors in the result of matches as Frankfurt would have lost today without VAR

Lightning quick counter attack after a goal kick, Hoffenheim lead.
