Buffon

He's injured yet again. Back injury now. Such a waste of a huge talent.

585 games played. 110 caps. 8 times winner of the Serie A goalkeeper of the year.

Has won everything except the Champions League and European Championship.

What a waste...

To be fair to wr8, he went a bit overboard but it's obvious what he meant. Buffon could've gone down as one of the best keepers of all time, but he's spent the last 5 or 6 seasons regularly being injured and rarely being at his best when fit.

I think even if he retires tomorrow, he will be still be spoken as one of the best GK's to ever play the game. Obviously everyone is going to be say he could have achieved so much more if he wasn't injured but still no one can take away the fact he was one of the best when he was fit and playing.

He was literally invincible from open play during the 2006 WC, he should have been the player of the tournament. Only gave up a crazy og from 1 inch out against us Yanks and Zidane's pen.

Most dominating performance I've ever seen from a goalkeeper.

Ofcourse he's achieved a lot over his career but the injury record over the last 4 seasons or so has been horrendous. This is precisely why I didn't want him at United when there were some rumours in the summer. You just can't trust him to play half a season.

Did you see Toldo at Euro 2000?
