Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

I would find it amazing if a club of our size can only focus on one transfer at a time, that is pathetic.
I would find it amazing how you can still have faith in the way our club's dealing with transfer. It's been pathetic for quite a time.

We have no DoF structure and Ed only has one pair of hands.

Yes, no DoF and his recruitment team to work on transfers, so Woody & Judge take control of transfer negotiations, including contract renewals, together with their own full time commercial jobs.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we can only manage to be concentrating fully on one deal at a time.

This is taking time because we don't want to spend 70m on him. We're calling Sporting's bluff and waiting for them to accept a lower offer, knowing they'll have to pay him 5m euros upfront and give him a pay rise.

To be fair, Woody has been focused on AWB and likely is working on Maguire now.
Well if that's the case it's sad. We should be able to work on multiple transfers at the same time. A huge club like United should be furnished with the staff and prepared for this.

You're kidding.
Right?

no white text?

He terminated his contract isn't it, then signed new one. Maybe wrong here.

@SportingCP96 that's correct isnt it? Bruno terminated his contract after the training fiasco and then signed new one.
Yes it is a new contract after the termination.

Maybe it's taking so long because we aren't actually in for him

Well Sunderland maybe an exaggeration, but do you think Lingard would be a team regular in sides like Everton, Wolves or Watford etc?
I don't think so.

He quite obviously would. All this Bruno impasse situation making me think maybe everyone can see obvious frailties in his game us average joes do not. If he was all that every one would be going mad for him at 100m+ but it seems it’s just us and we are trying to get him for minimal price?

That’s a hell of a leap from Sunderland, but yes, I absolutely do.

We must not be in for anybody going by that line of thinking.

What line of thinking? The fact there's no credible sources other than the press in portugal beating the drum every day? Same as Gaitan.

It's obvious we are in for Longstaff and Maguire given the sources.

You can't make that claim based on a horrible overall, team bottling performance. The way the WHOLE TEAM played last year, Rashford, Martial, Sanchez, DeGea, etc,... should be in the same category. If it happens again this year, shop 'em all.

I find it absurd that some people firmly believe journalists. We have literally no confirmation whatsoever that we're in for Bruno, De Ligt or Maguire. Yet you speak confidently as if we definitely are while criticising the club's inability to close the deal(s).

What's a credible source these days? They've all been proven to talk bollocks over the last few years.

Bruno has been reported suspiciously frequently in Portugal, fair enough, but he has been specifically been mentioned by British journalists as a player that Solskjaer has asked for.

Longstaff has been contradictory reports from various journalists. Some said a week or two ago that we're about to bid, others denied it, some continue to say it. Yet no bid. In his thread right now there's people that have come to the conclusion that we weren't in for him afterall. I've not read all the news today, but that could be more bollocks.

Re Maguire, various reports of a bid the other day. That was followed by an apparent rejection from Leicester. Then journos said they'd spoke to Leicester and they apparently weren't even aware of a bid. Why would they deny there was a bid?

I was originally of the belief that we had interest in all three, but when you look at the validity of them then you could quite easily conclude that it's all a load of crap. Add Ben Yedder to the list too.

Think it was him three other day that said Solskjaer had specifically put him as a priority for our midfield.

That tweet makes it sound like Spurs are more likely though if/when they sell Eriksen.

All the reports in Portugal had us at front runners, weird..

The tweet above is from a couple of weeks ago. Since we've signed AWB there have been reports that we've met his agent again, which lines up with that report. Think Portuguese press mentioned Spurs but they believe/want to believe that we're genuinely interested and are more likely. Feck knows what's true.

I am completely unqualified to make a judgement as I barely know the player, but for some reason I get strong Mkhitaryan vibes from this transfer.

He's younger, but I understand the worry. Hopefully it's not the case and he will help solve the creativity issue we have had with Pogba alone being too lonely.

So apparently he met him in April and no further communications as Ducker said this week - if we are really going to assume Ducker is credible these days.

I hope we are in for him, for what it's worth.

If we can get him, this summer window becomes pretty satisfying for me. We really need a player that can score goals.

I’m sure Ducker wrote an article a few days ago saying we were now concentrating on signing Longstaff and are doing a strategy of one deal at a time...then a few hours later BBC and Sky announce we’ve bid for Maguire. I think that sums up his reliability to be honest.

I think it makes sense to not sign Bruno until we get a DM and CB. Our current team could not accommodate a midfield of Pogba, Bruno and Matic, we’d get absolutely overrun. You can only play with 2 attack minded players in midfield if your team plays high and aggressive and compacts the space otherwise you’ll lose the midfield battle 99/100 games

It's very odd that we arent tying up the Longstaff transfer, assuming of course he is Ole's choice. Leicester bought Newcastles star player out of the blue it seemed. If he wants him it should be straight forward to wrap up.
